important note.

in short, i originally took this fic down to rewrite it but lost my motivation to nearly half way theough this chapter. as of 08/27/2024 this fic is officially discontinued, but i will spoil everything that happens in the end, since i feel like the readers deserve to know after i left them hanging for years </3. new readers proceed if you wish to (i don't like the writing or subplot after part 2 but i can't stop you)

THE CITY WAS A STRANGE PLACE. Young and confined to his clan's estate most of the time, Satoru Gojo deemed the city as weird. There were so many people doing odd things. People walked the bustling streets without a care, minding their own business while Gojo observed them.

What was that group of girls squealing about near the electronic store? Were the televisions that exciting, or was it something else that drawn them in?

Then the food vendor down the road and to the left. He was obviously rude to those that didn't want his food, so why was he surprised his sales were low? Was he an idiot, or what?

The city was a strange place, yet Gojo had a blossoming curiosity about it. There weren't many kids his age playing nearby. It was mainly adults and teenagers that filled the bustling area. Even if Gojo couldn't see much over them, he could sense the area around.

His ability to perceive the surrounding area was what led him to the quiet alleyway behind the clothing store that seemed to be popular with older women. A small candy wrapper was crushed underneath Gojo's shoe as he walked further down.

The walls and ground beneath him were covered in traces that only he could manage to see. With the special pair of eyes he was infamously known for, Gojo ignored the traces of residuals.

The presence of a cursed spirit was recently here, he was sure of it. And with his special Six Eyes, he was sure that that girl laying down unconscious in the alleyway was the one to exorcise it.

Gojo knelt down beside the girl, whose deep red hair was scattered in all directions. He brushed some of the stray strands away and lifted one of her eyelids. Beneath, he was greeted with a grey eye, grey like the clouds before a heavy rainstorm.

He called out to her. Once, twice— he received no response. Trying another time would probably be fruitless, so he didn't bother.

Why sleep in an alleyway anyway? There were a couple of filled trash bins nearby, the awful smell in the air. The floor was dirty and the air was warm back here. The cursed spirit must've been a grade two curse, so was she exhausted after exorcising something of that grade? It was odd, because he was sure that her power should far surpass that of the cursed spirit's.

Without much thought, Gojo slid his arms underneath the girl's small frame and lifted her up. She was easy to carry and her body warm. Their surroundings changed in the blink of an eye. One moment they were in that alleyway, and then the next they were in large, plain bedroom.
