lost and numb was how mayumi was feeling. during her family's wake and funeral, the cremation, the time where everyone had said their condolences.

she couldn't even bother to say anything when the word of her family's death had spread around for some reason. she could care less about if others knew, what she did care about was them.

but they were now dead.

gojo held her hand through it all, the pain of seeing his love like this worst than anything. the way she would curl up into a ball as she sat on her bed, the distant glances, her dulled eyes.

he wasn't the only one worried. everyone could see that during those ceremonies, the mayumi they knew was slowly drifting away.

people grieve in different ways. mayumi did so by being lost in her thoughts and memories. recalling happier times, and doing all of this as she held that silver necklace in her hand.

"mayu?" gojo softly called for her, gently caressing her cheek as if she were glass.

"yes?" she turned around and aloofly faced him.

gojo waved over the two siblings, "megumi and tsumiki are here to see you."

both tsumiki and megumi got up on the bed, engulfing mayumi in a hug. her eyes widened, also feeling gojo's long arms wrap around all three of them.

"we're worried," megumi admitted.

tsumiki added on, "we're young and don't understand what you're going through, but we're here."

gojo hummed, "we all love you, ya know? we're going nowhere if you ask."

her lips parted at the feeling of warmth, not only being surrounded by it but the feeling forming in her heart. mayumi shut her eyes, letting it consume her.

"thank you," she whispered, "but you guys will stay here as i leave."

what mayumi said had caught their attention, the other three backing up from the hug confused. leaving? what did the woman mean by that?

"you're not going anywhere by yourself," gojo narrowed his eyes.

after everything that has happened, the last thing mayumi should do is be alone. that's why they were there, so she wasn't. but she was going on her own now?

mayumi faced them all, "what they wanted was me, so i'll let them. i'm leaving to find who did this and deal with them so it doesn't happen again. yaga has a lead and i'm going to follow it."

"where will you go?" megumi asked.

"overseas," mayumi replied, "apparently these three guys work in japan but take their time off in other countries so they can't be found."

"so far..." tsumiki trailed off.

mayumi only patted their heads, "i'm always a call away. if you want to talk then send a text, i'll make sure satoru finally gets you guys phones."
