04. because of him

the young gojo sat inside of mayumi's hospital room, chair pulled up next to the bed as she was catching up on the sleep she had missed because of how uncomfortable she was.

she was admitted to the hospital yesterday, and the first thing that happened was her parents bursting through the hospital doors and towards her room upon hearing the news.

both adults also noticed the blood on gojo's grey hoodie, the very one mayumi had hugged him with when she saw him in the warehouse.

when they asked what happened, he had only replied with a shake of his head. it wasn't his choice to say that the red-haired had killed three men to her parents, but that case was different for sorcerers.

since those curse users wanted to kill gojo, it got his family involved with everything. sorcerers took the case instead of the cops, and what they reported was shocking.

mayumi kamiya had power that was showed at the scene, and it wasn't something the gojo clan wasn't informed of.

so there was the future head of the clan, swinging his legs as he thought about what the current head had asked for him to do since gojo already knew mayumi.

"ask if she wants to be trained alongside you."

he may be young, but the white-haired boy was far from stupid. he was basically a kid genius so gojo knew that mayumi would be used for their own benefit, and it was disgusting.

"i'm sorry," he apologized to the sleeping girl, "they only came for you because of me. i really shouldn't be hanging out with you, and i should've told you about the bounty. now my clan head wants you to train with me, but it would be as a weapon so i don't want you to. though i know what you'll say when i tell you, it's so stupid."

gojo huffed as he stared out the hospital window, only wondering when the stupid bounty would be taken off because it was only hurting people.

months later and the blue-eyed boy was correct, mayumi ended up accepting the proposal even when knowing that the clan would use her for their benefit.

this also meant that mayumi got to spend more time with satoru at the gojo estate, not that everyone seemed to like it.

both would hear people talking about mayumi and how the gojo clan's head would only be using her to show how they had two strong sorcerers with them, but every time satoru would cover her ears and they would walk away.

currently, mayumi was training by herself with one of the instructors. this male also happened to be part of the fraction that didn't care about the young girl, so she was pushed to her limits.

the young girl huffed with her hands on her knees, mouth wide trying to catch some air as sweat dribbled down the side of her face. she felt so weak at the moment, but the older man could care less.
