5. The Plug

Days passed without word from Harry and without Zayn reaching out. It was now one week since he'd seen Harry at the Clive Davis party and Zayn had made his decision.
He'd been rather busy preparing and doing interviews to talk about his single, PILLOWTALK and to promote his album coming up. Yet he still managed to find time every night to write out a pros and cons list on whether or not he should reach out.

Cons:

3. Harry tells him he hates him and they fight again
4. He has to learn about Harrys sexual partners since their time apart
5. Harry tells him he's over it and just wants to be civil

Pros:
1. Harry is in his life again
2. They both realize how much they missed each other
3. Harry wants Zayn as much as Zayn wants him
4. It's all a misunderstanding and Harry still supports Zayn
5. They can rekindle their friendship and publicly show the world they support one another's music
6. Zayn gets all he ever wanted. Harry, as well as the career of his choosing.
7. Maybe he and Harry can collaborate musically
8. Get Harrys opinion on PILLOWTALK
9. Harry is in his life again

Numerically speaking it was a a close one. But emotionally Zayn knew he would reach out even if he could only find 1 good pro.

Zayn had decided he'd confide in Taryn, his personal assistant and ask her to see if she could find a private way of contacting Harry without any media attention.
Taryn had been with him since his departure from the band. He met her and immediately felt she was a kindred spirit. She likes to skateboard, has a carefree attitude to life, she keeps her life private and enjoys that privacy, she wasn't a showy type of person who sought recognition. This relieved Zayn to know he didn't have a future Kim Kardashian on his hands. Taryn encouraged Zayn to do what made him happy above what his label asked of him and always fan-girled over his music when he let her listen to his work. She was also bisexual and just a super open minded chick.

He knew he would keep her around forever on the day he complained about his sore muscles after boxing at the gym. A few days after asking her, it officially being one week and a half since he saw HIM, Taryn came into his LA home beaming.

"I've got good news, babe!" Taryn said. She was always calling him babe or bub, sometimes Z as well. He liked it. It made her feel like a genuine friend and not someone he was paying.

"Ya? What's that?" Zayn asked, thinking there was no way she had already found a way to reach Harry. She didn't hold much power. At least not like Sarah did and Zayn had told Taryn that it had to stay between the two of them, knowing Sarah would eat a reunion up for publicity purposes.

"I've got a phone number for you. A phone number that just so happens to belong to your old band-mate, Harry Styles." She said excitedly, still beaming at Zayn.
