Though she was nervous, Y/N texted Bucky that night asking when he would be available next. He said he could do anytime that week, so she figured the sooner the better.
She already texted Hope asking if she could take care of Rori the next day until the coffee meet up was done. Hope of course was happy that she wasn't trying to push off the talk and agreed instantly.
"Take all the time you need! If it comes to Rori needing to spend the night so you can get some rest too, just let me know. I'm sure Doris would be fine with that," Hope smiled over the phone giving Scott the thumbs up silently. He returned it with the same dorky smile.
"It's a talk over coffee. Not a sleepover," Y/N sighed, throwing back the covers on her bed as she snuck in.
"Well, it was just a few drinks last time and we saw where that went," Hope giggled.
"Hope-"
"I know, I know. I'm kidding. You know I am."
"You're sure you're ok with taking Rori? I don't plan on it being a super long thing. We have to do it a little later thanks to my schedule, but hopefully we will be done by 7. "It shouldn't be more than an hour, right?"
"Depends on what the two of you talk about. I can't really tell you, sweetheart," Hope shrugged.
"Yeah, yeah... Ok, I'll talk to you tomorrow," Y/N sighed, turning on the TV and turning out the side lamp.
"I'll get all the details?"
"All the details..."
________________________Bucky went to bed that night with a subtle smile on his face. Was he nervous? Yes. But nothing compared to when the conversation has started. Less than 12 hours ago he was a single guy, with a business as his baby. Now everything was flipped, and he was adding a new kind of baby to his life.
He thought about going to Steve's room and updating him, but when he walked by the room, the light was out showing he had probably headed off to bed early. He did just have a first day of school with a bunch of 7 and 8 year olds.
Instead he went to bed with new thoughts in his head. Thoughts about the little girl he had met previously that day.
He tried imagining what she was like personality wise. Y/N hadn't spoken much of her other than how she came to be. So he started to pick traits of his own that he had hoped she had inherited. It wasn't that long of a list considering Bucky felt like he had a lot to work on as a person. One being not so much of a workaholic. If a child was coming into his life, a 7 year old at the least, he needed to make some changes on how he spent his time.
After all... He had 7 years of catching up to do.
_______________
The next day was a little nerve wracking for the both. Y/N seemed to be distracted at work with the mounds of paperwork on her desk thinking about how every hour she was closer to talking with the father of her child.
Bucky was just as distracted thinking about meeting with the one night stand that happened to always flood his mind over the years at random moments, and now happened to be the mother of his kid.
So when 5:45 rolled around, and Y/N looked up at the clock, nerves started taking over her body.
"Ok, Daisy. I'm out for the day. Tell Essex I did all the papers he needed from me for my transfer. He can stop nagging at me about it for the rest of the week."
"Perfect. Hey," Daisy said, stopping her as she noticed the change of clothes. "You look nice. You going on a date?"
"Not quite. I'm having coffee with an old acquaintance of mine," Y/N worded slowly, trying to put the explanation together in her own mind.
