Alex POV

I awoke in my bed, while Alaya slept soundly in hers. It was a pity we weren't able to share a bed. I would've behaved myself, I'm sure of it.  I wanted to kneel down and kiss her on the cheeks, but I couldn't because Alaya had set some ground rules, and as difficult as it was to follow them, I was going to do so. I was relieved that Roxy had agreed to move cabins with me.

Alaya was up early in the morning around 3a.m performing her daily prayer, which I noted. I was familiar with the five daily prayers because Amar had already explained them to me, and I knew when to expect Alaya to pray. She moved slowly around the room when she got up to pray so she wouldn't wake me awake, but I am a light sleeper, and watched everything through squinted eyes. I like her commitment to her beliefs. It's inspiring.

I didn't want to wake her up, so I tiptoed to the bathroom to get ready, just like she did earlier.

I wrapped a towel around my waist after I completed showering in the bathroom. Alaya was sitting up in her bed, a glum expression on her face, indicating that I hadn't done a particularly good job of remaining silent. "Good morning, Peanut, I see you're awake?".

I walked up to her bed and sat down next to her.

"Can you put some clothing on, Alex?,"  she said, her eyes hidden behind the palm of her hand. "Are you attempting to seduce me on purpose or something? Because it is working!"

This was not how she was supposed to see me. After I took a shower, I was supposed to retrieve my clothes from the wardrobe and go back into the bathroom to change. She said it was seducing her, should I stay this way I pondered. 'No Alex don't push it' I told myself.

"Alex, I'm going to pre-warn you I'm not a morning person so can come across cranky and miserable till I've had a cup of coffee and some breakfast" Alaya confessed to me, her eyes still covered with her hands. "Alex, I'm sorry for the attitude, but I'm really hungry."

"Thank you for informing me, Peanut. It's okay, my feelings for you won't change. Don't worry I'll still marry you even though you are being mean to me".  Alaya flung one of her pillows at me when I stated this. I couldn't help but laugh as I retrieved my clothes from the closet and headed to the bathroom to change. Alright, so she isn't a morning person, I thought to myself. Noted.

"Let's hope it doesn't scare you away," Alaya replied, her voice dismal.

I stopped in my tracks when I heard her say this and said, "Alaya, nothing could keep me away from you,"   before I shut the bathroom door.

Alaya had entered the bathroom to change and shower. She was a sight to behold when she first appeared. I couldn't take my eyes away from her. She wore grey high-waisted jeans, a black long-sleeve solid fitted crop top with the words 'baby girl' emblazoned on it, and open-toed sandals. Her outfit was extremely well-fitting, emphasising her body's shape and highlighting every curve.

Her hair was styled in two French braids. She must like the necklace, with the A pendant, she was wearing because I had seen it on her a few times. Her make-up was simple yet effective, highlighting her huge brown eyes and plump, luscious lips. I'm not sure I'll be able to cope sharing a room with her. Even just staring at her has jumbled up my thoughts.

As she was putting her ear stud in I ran over to her and grabbed hold of her around the waist.

"Alex, what are you doing?" She squealed and chuckled as she tried to get out of my grip.

"What? I'm just trying to appreciate your beauty from near. I was far away and couldn't see properly" I lied to her. I just wanted to hold her. "Do you need help with that earing?" I said to distract her as she was struggling to pin it.

"No I will be able to manage once you let go" She responded in a amused tone.

"Maybe I don't want to let go", she had managed to turn around and now our eyes were locked.

"Alex... please..."  I could see she was enjoying the closeness as much as I was, and she pretended to want me to let go.

"Okay, fine I'll let go. Let's get my gorgeous girl some breakfast before she bites my head off" I said, as we walked out the door and towards the canteen.
