Alex POV
I'd arrived for a tutoring session with the twins. Even before I had a chance to knock, Alaya had answered the door.
As she stood in the doorway, my girl said, "Hi Jaanu." I'd learned that Jaanu, an Urdu word, was a term of endearment for someone you loved deeply.
''Hey Peanut, where you looking out of the window ?'' I inquired, delighted to see my love.
"Yes, so what if I did! You got a problem with that?", she replied, teasing yet endearingly. "Come on in, Jaan, the boys are waiting for you in the dining room."
Alaya trailed behind me, as I headed towards the room where the twins were. When I arrived, Kamran and Harris were seated at the table, looking ready for today's session.
"Hello, Alex," the boys said in unison, smiling.
"Hello boys, you both okay?" I inquired, and they both nodded. "So, let's get started on today's lesson. What would you like to learn first?" I asked, but my gaze was fixed on Alaya, who sat across from me and winked at me.
I gave the boys some work to do, and they seemed to be preoccupied with it. I approached my girl and took a seat next to her.
"So, my parents have driven up to London a day earlier, to attend a wedding they have been invited to. Do you want to stay over and watch a movie when you've finished with the boys? ", Alaya inquired, trying to hide her excitement.
"Yes, of course. That sounds lovely. What about the boys?" I questioned because I wasn't sure we'd be able to watch a movie with the boys around.
"You don't worry about that. After they finish here, I promised the boys they could play on their PS4 in their room ", she replied. My girl had thought of everything.
I had finished the tutoring session with the boys, who'd rushed off to their rooms, most likely to play on their PS4.
Alaya was in the kitchen when I went to look for her. She was busy filling bowls with snacks and popcorn.
"Can I help with anything?" I asked as I entered the kitchen.
I embraced Alaya from behind, nuzzling my nose in her hair in an attempt to inhale her fragrance. With a deep sigh, Alaya exhaled deeply.
"You grab the drinks, baby. They're on the kitchen counter", Alaya managed to mutter as she struggled to remove herself from my clutches.
We sat next to each other on the sofa, feeling at ease in our near closeness.
"Baby, what do you want to watch?" Alaya inquired as she picked up the remote.
"You decide. I don't mind what we watch as long as you're with me ", I responded.
Alaya selected a Bollywood film to watch. I'd never seen a foreign language film before, let alone one with subtitles. But as my girl chose it, I didn't mind. The title of the film was 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'.
My arm enveloped Alaya, who sat with her head on my chest, one arm across my waist, and her legs slouched to the side. Despite the fact that it was an almost two-and-a-half-hour film, I found it to be rather enjoyable. It was my first experience watching a Bollywood film. The movie was now over, and it was getting close to midnight.
"Peanut, it's late, and I need to get home," I remarked as I stood up and extended my arms. Alaya snatched one of my hands and pulled me back to my seat. "What's wrong, baby?" I inquired as a courtesy.
"Hey, babe, I wanted to tell you something before you left. This weekend, I'm going to tell my parents about us. I've realised that I don't want to hide any more . My father is still angry with me, about me changing my degree but I've realised that being true to myself is the only way to be truly happy. And that means telling them about you. Because you make me happy," she responded, smiling that gorgeous smile that I like.
"Are you sure, babe?" I questioned, checking to see if she was comfortable with it.
"Yes, I'm sure." She queried, a concerned expression now emerging on her face, "Why, don't you want me to?"
"Alaya, I want you to do whatever makes you happy. If you want to tell your parents this weekend then that's fine with me", leaning in and kissing her on the forehead, I said. "Okay, babe I really have to go now. I love you"
"I love you more," my girl remarked as I grabbed my bag and made my way home.
