Incoming Call from David Richards

Declined

It's 3 in the morning and David's been calling her for the past one hour. Not to miss all the texts he's been sending.

David Richards

Janet.
Please just listen to me. We can't talk about this over texts.

Please, just answer the god damn phone.

Janey, please. Answer your phone.

I wanted to tell you everything, but I couldn't afford to lose you. I knew if I told you about her, I'd lose you forever.

It's not what it looks like. You're not "the other woman" I promise. Jesus, you could never an other woman.

Janet switches her phone off and plugs it in for charging. She's been thinking about all of it. She wanted to hear him out. She really did, but her self respect asked her to wait and let everything settle in.

He kissed her multiple times. They had pretty romantic moments with eachother. Both of them are busy business owners, but they never missed those long phone calls with eachother. The past two weeks were the best couple of weeks she ever had. And now all of a sudden reality came shattering everything. All of this reminds her of her ex. Whom she broke up with, because he was cheating on her with multiple women. And now David, was cheating on that plastic bitch WITH HER! Oh god! She is now the kind of woman she herself despises the most.

With a lot on her mind. Janet finally falls asleep.

Location: G & S office. The next morning.

Janet doesn't reply to all the good mornings she's been recieving on her way to her cabin.

"Miss-" Jen attempts to say something, but Janet lifts her hand.

"Meet me in my office when I call you." Janet says and slips into her office, only to find to a disheveled David Richards waiting for her. He takes her appearance in.

It seems that the events of last evening didn't fade her glamour, but he could see right through her dead, sleep deprived eyes, even though she is dressed perfectly

It seems that the events of last evening didn't fade her glamour, but he could see right through her dead, sleep deprived eyes, even though she is dressed perfectly.

He on the other hand is has his misery full on display. It seems he dressed just because he couldn't walk out of his house in his sleepwear. He is sleep deprived, his eyes swollen. Maybe he was crying?

"HOW CAN VISITORS ENTER MY OFFICE WITH OUT MY PERMISSION! JE-" Janet's shout is cut off but David grabbing her and shutting her with a furious kiss. Someone one knocks at the door, but David locks it. His lips not leaving Janet's.

He lets her go after she pushes him away with all her might. Janet places a tight slap on his face. Tears streaming down her cheeks.

"How. Dare. You." She says with gritted teeth.

David looks shocked for a moment, then continues to stare at her. Tears streaming down his own face.

"I can't lose you." His voice barely a whisper.

"Get out." Janet hisses.

"Janey, please listen to me. She-" David says but stops himself. He felt so ashamed of himself.

"Do you have any idea how cheap you made me feel? I can't look at myself. All I see is a bitch who fooled around with an engaged man. How could you, David?" She asks.

"I knew you'd never see me if I told you the truth. So, I thought it's best to keep it from you." He says looking down at his feet.

"Until I found out and felt like an opportunist whore? Like someone who'd let engaged billionaire David Richards shove his tongue down her throat? That plastic bitch you're engaged to has a better body than me, anyway. Even though it's fake." Janet hisses.

"BUT I DON'T LIKE THAT PLASTIC BITCH. I LIKE YOU. I CARE FOR YOU. I DON'T WANT TO LOSE YOU, Janey. Please, just listen to me. I'm engaged to her because of my grandfather's damn will." He says wiping his tears off with a tissue.

Janet stays quiet. No amount of reasons and excuses can possibly calm her down.

"I was born before my father was handed over the ownership of Richards' Industries. The Hemmingways are old friends of our family. My grandfather and Alice's grandfather had this agreement of getting us married. He made this damn will where I could inherit my family's business only if I agree to marry Alice." He stops to get a reaction from Janet, but recieves non in return.

Sighing, he continues, "But, that's not it. The will also says that If she is ever caught cheating on me, the conditions stand void. The good news is, she is infact cheating on me with multiple men. My people are collecting the dirt on her. And I was busy with that very matter for the past two days. We are very close to exposing the bitch. I just need you to be patient with me, sweetie." David says taking her hands in his.

"I don't give a flying fuck about the why. All I know is that YOU DID IT. You may have your reasons. But I have nothing to do with it, David." Janet says calmly. She tries to remove her hands from David's grasp but, he keeps his hold firm and tight.

"Keep your reasons to yourself please. I understand, businessmen can go to any extent to meet their goals. You played well." She says with tears in her eyes.

"You have to hear me out-"

"I think, I just did." She pauses and continues, "I just heard you out, David. That's enough for today."

"Atleast tell me something. Please." He asks. Tears forming in his eyes as well.

Janet stares at him. She pulls her hands out of his grasp.

"Fix your shit, David. Fix yourself. Ask me again, when you're not bound with the chains of stupidity." She says.
