Location- David's Penthouse

David and Janet are snuggled up together on the couch, watching their a Star Trek movie. Star Trek Beyond.

"I think Chris Pine is great actor, and him as Captain Kirk is giving off great William Shatner energy." David comments.

"Hmm. Yeah." Janet mutters as she places another cheese popcorn into her mouth.

She pushes herself more into him, as he continues to rub her arm. "Are you cold, Babe?" David asks.

"Yes." She replies, but her eyes are still on the tv screen.

"Imma get you a blanket then." He mutters and Janet shifts slightly to let him stand.

"Hey, I was thinking we get dinner outside. What say?" He asks while wrapping the blanket around her.

"I don't want to go anywhere, David." Janet replies, as her gaze lands on his face.

"Baby, it's been two months." David says as he takes a seat beside her. "You haven't left this place since you were discharged from the hospital." He says caressing her face.

"I don't want to. I'm not going anywhere." Her voice cracks as tears roll down her eyes.

"Okay. Okay. You don't have to. It's okay." He wraps an arm around her, providing her with his warmth.

"You need to stop pretending to be so strong, David." Janet whispers. David hears her clearly, but chooses to stay silent.

His heads dips a bit. Him, trying to keep his eyes from welling up. "You lost her too, baby. You can express if you want to." Janet says softly cupping his face in her hands. She watches in helplessly as a lone tear runs down his face.

David's phone rings. It is the detective inspector.

"Baby, it's the detective inspector." David sniffs as Janet wipes his tears clean. "I'll just be back." He says to his girlfriend, and walks off to their bedroom to talk to the man.

Ten minutes later, David comes down the stairs dressed to step out in a black hoodie and tattered jeans.

Janet looks up with furrowed brows. "Now, where are you off to?" She asks, pausing the movie.

"They caught the man who was driving the truck." He replies making her eyes go wide.

"And you are needed there because?" Her frown intensifies as she walks up to stand in front of the man.

He exhales and wraps his arms around her small waist. "Because I had asked to meet this guy personally. He and I need to talk."

Janet's features soften. "You want to beat him up."

"Oh, I wanna kill him. But the detective inspector convinced me not to."

"Wait here. I'll come with you." Janet says and attempts to move out of his hold.

"Baby, I don't want you to feel pressurized to step out. It's okay. I'll be okay." He says brushing his nose over hers.

"No, David. You were right. I need to step out. And what better opportunity that to go out and watch the man who killed our baby get battered by my boyfriend." She replies with glossy eyes.
