David's POV
"You're so cute." Janet sequels holding the baby in her arms.
I could see her eyes well up with joy. I walk up behind her and place a kiss on her shoulder. "Don't cry, Baby." I whisper.
She nods her head and sniffs once. I raise my eyes and they land on her father. He has a stoic expression on his face.
Sometimes I feel like he hates me. But then, Janet and I's relationship is very public. And he has never shown any such behaviour. Just his usual resting bitchface. Well, what could I say to that.
Janet's mom on the other hand was crying and laughing at the same time. I adore her a lot actually. She's one momma bear kinda woman. Why the fuck am I using Janet's words. Guess people really grab on to their partners habits and lingo. *sigh*
"So, do we have a name?" Marina asks as Janet gives the baby back to Rachel.
"That is a very good question. What are we calling this browned eyed little man?" I add, wrapping my hands around my girlfriend's waist, giving the side of her tiny little bump a rub. She started wearing really baggy clothes, even to the office. Making sure she carried coats to cover herself up. The both of us are very paranoid about our little one.
"Adrian." Rachel says.
"Yeah. We named him Adrian Leo Claremont." Joseph finishes for his wife.
I find Joseph shifting from one feet to another as he sat on the stool beside his wife's bed. His hands tucked inside his pockets. His entire being was screaming that he was impatient. Impatient about something. But, I can't really put my finger on it.
With the blink of an eye, he leans forward and grabs Rachel's mouth in a searing kiss.
Oh lord.
The older Claremont couple's jaws drop to the ground, Robyn and Ian's eyes widen as they look away.
"Oh my god." Both my girlfriend and I mutter at the same time.
Once Joseph is done. He mutters a little "I love you so much. Thank you for this." to his wife, which doesn't go unheard by any of us.
"Dad, I'm sorry, but y'all just didn't give me even a moment alone with my new born and my wife. What was I supposed to do." Joseph defends himself as he takes his son in his arms.
"It's okay, son. I understand. Actually I'm sorry. But you know your mom. She has always been excited about the both of you getting married and having kids." Mr. Claremont says rolling his eyes, which then land on me.
Yeah old man. We're almost there. But it probably is, having kids and getting married. And not the other way round.
"Me? Oh come on, Jonathan. You're the once very excited about your 'heir'." Marina spits back and proceeds to walk towards the door, as she continues to mumble, "dumb man and his dumb kids."
Jonathan let's out a laugh and begins to follow his wife out. "Well, that was easy. See you, kids. And love you, grandson!" He says before walking out.
"Sometimes I forget that dad was such a goofball when we were young." Janet says.
"Anyway, we should go. Give you guys the space you need." I say.
"Yeah. Totally." Robyn comments.
"Unhun. Good idea." Ian says.
"Yeah, I'm hungry. I really want a hamburger." Janet says making me want to facepalm myself. She never ever craved hamburgers before she got pregnant. And now everyone's gonna know.
"Jane, I've never heard you ask for hamburgers. Never." Rachel says with a lifted eyebrow.
"Yes because-" Janet is about to say God knows what; when I interrupt her, saying "because there's a first for everything!"
"Yeah. That." Janet says, smiling sheepishly.
I could see Rachel and Joseph's frown deepen gradually.
Oh god. We'll not be able to keep it under wraps much longer.
"We should take your leave now." I said.
Janet went ahead and hugged everyone. I did the same.
"We'll see you, Leo!" Janet places a light kiss on his temple.
We walk out of the room.
"Babe, I'm so hungry. I'm craving Italian food." She says the moment we climb into the car.
There we go. Constant change of cravings.
"I thought you said you wanted hamburgers." I say.
"David, I don't usually eat hamburgers." She says back, as if offended.
"I know. Infact everyone does. You were about to blow it up for the both of us." I say sighing as we drive into the road.
"I think Joseph and Rachel have sensed it as well." She gasps.
"Yeah. I mean, within a month, Baby Richards is gonna start showing." I let out a chuckle and place my hand on her bump.
"I'm gonna outgrow all my clothes. Oh my god." She whines.
"You had to ruin it." I sigh and let's out a laugh.
"You'll look even more gorgeous with a bigger bump." I says as I interlace our fingers.
"I love you." She says.
"I know right? I'm great." I reply trying to get on her nerves.
"dAviD!" She scolds.
"Hahaha." I let out a laugh and then place a kiss on the back of her hand
"I love you too, Baby. I love you both so very much."
