Janet is pacing around in her office. It's been a week since the gender reveal party. She finally found the time to visit her doctor.

It is around 6:30 in the evening. The employees of Glitters and Sparkles are all wrapping their work up and leaving.

She is standing by the floor to ceiling glass window and watching people leave as the New York skyline paints itself gorgeous.

A knock breaks her out of her trance. "Yes?" She responds not moving her gaze from the little lights outside her window.

"Miss, this came in for you." Jen's small voice is heard as she nervously places the folder on her desk. The folder read the name of the doctor's clinic and, Jen knew that it was a gynaecologist's report.

"Thank you, Jen." Janet replies in a monotonous voice.

"If.." Jen hesitates. "If my work here is done, may I leave?" She blurts.

"Yes, you may Jen. Thank you." Janet sighs and replies.

Jen shifts in her place and then walks towards the door. "Whatever it is, I hope it works out for the best, miss." She mumbles and hurries out.

Janet gulps and makes her way towards her desk. She takes the folder from the table and opens it. Her tongue sticks out and wets her lips. After taking a deep breath, she opens the envelope and fishes the report out. She ignore the entire content of the page and shifts her gaze to the last part.

CONCLUSION: THE PATIENT IS PREGNANT

Her grip of the piece of paper tightens as her eyes well up. Is she happy? Yes of course. Will David be happy? Maybe not. Maybe this baby will be a lot for him. May be..

Her thoughts are interrupted when her phone rings. She receives the call without even looking at the name.

"Janet Claremont." She speaks into her phone.

A very familiar laugh fills up her ears. "Again recieving phone calls without looking at the caller name, Baby?" David's baritone voice says.

"David, I'm sorry. I was occupied with work." Janet replies with her raspy voice, which was a clear indication that she'd been crying. She puts the phone on speaker and begins to collect her belongings.

"Are you crying, Bubba?"

"No. No, I'm not. I'm not crying."

"But you were. You were crying, weren't you? What is wrong?"

"Nothing's wrong, Honey. Don't worry. Let me get back home. We can talk then."

"Well. Okay. I finished early today, do you want me to pick you up?" He says as a ding sound is heard from the elevator, and along with that another voice flies in.

"Brother, Could I have a word?" It was Damian.

"Honey, I have Rose waiting on me downstairs. Don't worry, okay? You finish your talk and I'll see you back at home." Janet says as she places the reports in her bag.

"Okay. I love you. See you." David says.

Janet's eyes tear up. "I love you too." She replies with choked up voice.

"Bye, Jane!" Damian shouts.

"Goodbye, Ian." Janet replies and hangs up.

_______________

David let's himself into his penthouse to find that non of the lights of the living room are on. "Baby, I'm home" He calls, but recieves no response.

He spots Janet's shoes by the door. The pair she wore to work this morning.  Which is strange, because she carries her shows to their walk in closet. Her slippers are at their place as well.

Janet had strictly made this rule, in which they could not wear their dirty shoes in the house. They are supposed to slip into clean slippers and carry their shoes to the closet.

David slips into his pair of slippers and grabs both his and his girlfriend's shoes. On reaching their shared bedroom, he find his girlfriend cuddled up in bed. He opens the door to their closet and throws the shoes in.

Walking up to the bed he finds tear stains on her cheeks. His brows furrow, but he decides not to wake her up.

David takes a quick shower and wears a pair of sweatpants. He slips into bed, and encircles his arms around her waist from behind. He gives her belly a rub and nuzzles his face into the crook of her neck.

_______________

Janet stirs a bit and wakes up. Her eyes adjust to the little lights coming from the dimmed bulbs in the room.

"Hi, Baby." David breaths into her hair.

Janet sniffs and replies, "Hi."

"You want to get up now? Because I need to talk to you." He says sternly. He clearly means business.

"Yeah. I need to talk to you too." Janet replies and sits up. David too sits up and switches the lights on.

"Dav.."

"I need to know what's wrong, Janet. As in, the real thing. And I need you to not fuck around and get to the point." David says sternly, but with a soft voice.

"Please don't be mad." Janet let's out a sob as her eyes well up.

"I promise I won't. Please tell me what happened? You're scaring me." David takes her hands in his.

"I'm pregnant." Janet let's out a whisper making the man still for a moment.

"You're what?" David asks. Even though he knew this was coming. He still was considering this to be a 50/50 probability.

"You're pregnant?"

"Yeah."

"I'm. I'm gonna be a dad?"

"Yes. I'm so sorry, David. I don't know how this happened. I didn't mean to-" Janet rambling is interrupted as a pair of lips crashes into hers.

They both let out littles sobs while kissing each other fiercely. Tears streaming down both their eyes. Tears and Saliva mixing with eachother's; trying to seal their relationship with this gesture.

When they finally let go of each other, David finds the time to ask, "But, why were you crying then? As in? Why were you upset? And don't you dare lie to me about it."

Janet begins to fidget with the end of the comforter. "I..uh. I thought may be you wouldn't be happy about the baby." She mumbles.

A deep frown appears on David's forehead. "I what?" He asks in disbelief. "You thought I wouldn't be happy about you being pregnant with my child?!" He asks. To which Janet only nods timidly.

"Oh my god, Jane. You.."

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.." Janet croaks out as her eyes well up.

"No no no no. It's okay. It's alright, sweetheart." David hugs her. "Don't worry about it." He adds, placing little kisses into her hair.

"But there's still one problem." David mutters.

"What problem?" Janet asks getting out of his embrace.

"Baby, we haven't thought about it in a really long time, but there's someone out there trying to kill you. They failed once. If the news of our pregnancy leaks, it might be dangerous for both you and our child." David says rubbing her belly.

"So we shouldn't." Janet says firmly.

"What?"

"We shouldn't tell anyone about the baby." Janet says with determination.

"If the world is a threat to my child, it doesn't get to know about it." She adds.

"Yeah. I think your right. We shouldn't tell people. Not until the attacker gets caught." He says thoughtfully.
