Location- Reception Hall

"And her creations get grander by each event." David says walking up to a waiting Janet. He gives her a glass of white wine.

"Guess you liked the decorations." Janet smirks taking the glass.

"Oh. Not me. I heard someone else say." He replies earning a smack on the arm.

"Yes of course it's beautiful. You know it is." David says planting a kiss into her hair.

Someone clears their throat behind the pair. They turn to find Janet and Joseph's parents. A stern look on Mr. Claremont's face. A sweet smile on Mrs. Claremont's.

"Mr. and Mrs. Claremont, it's a pleasure meeting you both." David extends his hand.

Jonathan Claremont shakes his hand. Janet's mother extends her hand, David shakes hers with a polite nod.

"David Richards." He introduces.

"Oh yes of course, dear boy. I'm Marina. I hope you're comfortable." Mrs. Claremont smiles.

"Yes. Yes of course. I mean, G & S never disappoints. Does it?" David looks to his left at a furious Janet, who is glaring at her father. David notices her uneasiness. "Janet?" He calls.

No response.

"Jane?" He places a hand on her elbow.

"Hmm? Yeah." She glances back at him.

"Oh sweetheart, you must be really tired after all this." Marina says as she hugs her daughter. "My sweet baby." The older woman mutters.

"You told me there is nothing between the two of you, Richards." Jonathan Claremont speaks up. Janet let's out a silent cuss.

"Dad-"

"There was nothing between the two of us back then, Mr. Claremont." David replies.

"Oh hush, Nathon. Don't put up your tough dad act. Don't worry about him, David. Don't think we're against the relationship the two of you share." The woman smiles and links her arm with her husband's.

"But. Don't you dare. Break her heart." She warns and the elderly pair walks away.

David leaves a sigh of relief. Janet furrows her brows, then let's out a chuckle.

"What?" David frowns.

"Were you scared of them?" Janet asks with a amused expression.

"What? No- But-" David stammers badly. Janet laughs.

"They are your parents afterall." He mutters. Janet repeats his words mockingly. Earning a glare.

Soon it's time for the best man's speech where David tells the crowd all the funny and embarrassing stories of the time he and Joseph spent at business school. The crowd enjoys his speech very much.

He places the microphone down and stands beside Janet who is still recovering from his story of how the two of them stuck chewing gums in their principal's hair.

"Both of you are monsters." Rachel says as David joins them.

Joseph lets out a laugh. David too breaks into fits of laughter.

"Next we have the Maid Of Honor's speech." The emcee announces.

Janet takes a seat behind the microphone.

"Rachel and I go way back. The both of us used to attend the same ballet classes when we were 6. Oh dear, it's been years now. Oh by the way, a very few people knows this. She older than me." Janet gives her friend a teasing look, who in return mouths a 'fuck off' to her.

Janet laughs and continues. "Since then, we've had tonnes and tonnes of stuff together. Dance classes, gym, hell even our periods sync every month until.." she stops as Joseph, Rachel and David give her looks of horror

"Until that day when I decided to learn some music."

The lights go off a commotion start. "Don't worry people." Janet's voice is heard. "I'm a bit dramatic like that."

Three spotlights appear where Janet is seated. He acoustic guitar in her hand.

"This one's for you, Rachel."

Janet starts singing a slow, acoustic version of Alessia Cara's Scars To Your Beautiful.

"She just wants to be, beautiful
She goes, unnoticed she knows, no limits
She craves, attention she praises, an image
She prays to be, sculpted by the sculptor

Oh, she don't see, the light that's shining
Deeper than the eyes can find it
Maybe we have made her blind
So she tries to cover up her pain
And cut her woes away
'Cause covergirls don't cry
After their face is made

But there's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark
You should know you're beautiful just the way you are
And you don't have to change a thing
The world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful
We're stars and we're beautiful

Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh

And you don't have to change a thing
The world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful
We're stars and we're beautiful."

"I don't know if y'all know, but the woman right here has been through hell and back." Janet plucks the microphone from the stand and gets up as a waiter come and takes her guitar away.

"Hell and back to just live. Hell and back to be this hotshot lawyer. Hell and back to get her man." Janet stands infront of the newly weds.

"I adore you so much, El. I'm so happy to have you as my sister in law. I love you so much. Welcome to the family." She hands the mic to another waiter and hugs her best friend who is now crying. The crowd cheers and claps.

They hear someone trying to stifle her sobs. The two pull away and find Robyn on the verge of tears.

"Oh Rob. Not you too." Janet laughs.

"You have a beautiful voice, Janet. Oh my god. You sing so well." Robyn says smiling as she wipes her tears.

Damian smiles and nudges Janet. "I guess my brother's soul just left his body."

Janet furrows her brows and looks at David, who is wordlessly staring at her. Janet chuckles a bit and walks up to him. "David?" She says and takes his glass of wine from his grasp. She hands to Damian and knocks on David's forehead. "Anybody home?"

This makes the company laugh. David Richards hugs her wordlessly. "You're awesome. Absolutely gorgeous." He mutters.
