"Sir, are you sure you want to leave so soon? You just got back and her birthday is tomorrow" Griffin asked "I need to, it's my job and I told you that I will be coming and going even for a day. I have a job to do and so do you, so I won't stop you from doing yours so stop trying to convince me to not do mine" Wyatt demanded ending the conversation. Griffin was worried because Wyatt just got back from his trip and now he is leaving again for how knows long, the only problem was the day he is leaving the day before Sydney's birthday and he doesn't want it to be ruined by the absence of her father. Sydney walked out of her room after waking up and getting ready, only to see Griffin looking stressed and anxious. "What's going on?' Sydney asked "Oh, hey. Nothing, I was just going over things with your dad and you know how he can be" Griffin answered not wanting to worry her "Oh, okay. Where is he anyway?" Sydney asked "Where is who?" Griffin replied "My dad" Sydney answered with a chuckle "Oh, he went outside I think" Griffin said. Sydney could tell that something was up but she didn't want to say anything in case it worried Griffin, she kinda brushed it off and moved on.

A few hours later...

 Griffin was trying his hardest to keep his composer when he was around Sydney so he wouldn't find out about Wyatt, he felt terrible lying to her about this but he had no choice. He knew that it wasn't right and that is she found out that she would be pissed but it was for her won good, thus would not only ruin her birthday but she would be pissed. He kept his distance from Wyatt so that they wouldn't talk about it, especially in front of Sydney. Even though Sydney and her dad don't particularly get along but she would be so heartbroken that her dad couldn't take a day off to stay for her birthday. Sure Sydney is a grown women but she can't have a party, she cam't hang out with friends, and she can't even call anyone.

"Sir, I don't want to talk about this in front of her" Griffin whispered "Well I need to go over it with you" Wyatt said "Look no offense to you, but you do realize that this is gonna hurt her so bad right" Griffin asked rudely "Well I have a job to do" Wyatt replied "But leaving the night of her birthday after saying, nearly promising you would be here is really low of you" Griffin said nearly yelling. Griffin's heart dropped after realizing that they weren't the only ones in the conversation "What?" Sydney gasped "Sydney I-" Griffin was cut off by Sydney "So you are leaving anyway?" Sydney asked sarcastically "I have a job Sydney, I don't have a choice" Wyatt said defending himself "No you do, you just don't want to choose it"
