Sydney stood there in shock while trying to process what just happened, after years of hating him and fighting, her dad was gone. Wyatt got into an accident a week ago when he left for the airport but Griffin and Sydney are just finding out now , when Sydney heard that he dad was dead, she couldn't help but let a wave of guilt wash over her. She never even got a chance to say a proper goodbye, the last things they said to each other were during an argument, let alone the fact that she just turned 23 earlier this week. Griffin was extremely worried for her, she wasn't even crying. Sh was just sitting on the couch in shock, she wouldn't even move. "Sydney?" Griffin said "..." Sydney didn't respond she just sat there frozen like a statue "Sydney, answer me please" Griffin begged but there was still no reply, she just sat there... frozen. Griffin didn't leave her side until he was positive she was actually okay, which he knew she wasn't. Griffin sat there when he felt Sydney move, he looked up and saw her putting her head on his shoulder. So he wrapped his arm around her and hugged her tight as she began crying again into his chest, " It's okay, I'm here" Griffin said softly reassuring her, he heard her sobs and it broke his heart "Why did it have to be him?" Sydney asked sobbing "Oh, Sydney. Shh, it's okay" Griffin reassured trying his best to calm her down. Griffin held Sydney for a while, while trying to calm her down because she was crying hard. "Baby, it's okay" Griffin said again, Sydney started to calm down and take deep breaths while Griffin helped her. "Good, in and out. That's really good, just keep taking deep breaths" Griffin instructed. Sydney sat back up and Griffin kept his arm on her waist, he could feel Sydney shaking and her could see her hands trembling. As she sat there he reached out and held her hands, he kissed both her hands and hugged her again reassuring her softly. "It's okay, I know it hurts. But it's okay" He whispered reassuringly, after he finished his sentence he could feel Sydney put her head on the crook of his neck and sigh. He rubbed her head and kept telling her it was okay until she pulled away from the hug.

One Hour Later...

Sydney had mostly calmed down  but she was still shaky here and there. Griffin was in the kitchen cooking when Sydney walked by and seemed like she was in a rush, Griffin watched her walk upstairs when he heard her sniffle and he knew she was crying. He stopped what he was doing, turned off the stove and walked up the stairs after her. When he got upstairs he went outside their bedroom and heard her sobbing hard, it broke his heart. He opened the door to see Sydney sitting on the floor under her window sobbing with her head in her knees, he ran over to her and sat down hugging her "Oh Sydney, hey" He said softly hugging her "Shh, it;s okay. I got you, I'm here" He reassured trying to calm her down but nothing was working. She was crying so hard she couldn't breath "Hey, hey. Sydney, breath. Hey, look at me" He said lifting her chin "Breath" He repeated softly as she tried to breath but she sobbed "Hey, it's okay. Deep breaths" Griffin said. After a while Sydney calmed down a bit but she was still crying, Griffin sat with her for hours until she was ready to go downstairs.

Griffin understood what she was going through, as he lost his mom when he was young. He knew she was hurt and that she wasn't going to get over this for a while.. and that was okay, she needed her time because... she was broken inside
