LORE
I rolled my eyes when Demitricus began rambling once more about the celebration he planned on holding a few months from today.
How unfair, I thought, of how Demeter was able to leave earlier with a sorry of an excuse about tending to a mortal problem, but when I want to leave he refuses to let me?
Not that I needed permission, but my brother is sensitive as he is powerful. And it is a lot. I wouldn't put it past him if we would pay the Underworld a visit just to torment me with his presence.
So I stayed. Alongside the other gods that looked just as bored as I was, we all listened to him.
"It would be much appreciated if you could convey to the others what I told you today. It is important for us gods to celebrate Olympus and the home it has served for all of us." Demitricus said with a wide smile.
"Can we leave now?" Hermes immediately asked next to me.
Alec tried hiding his laugh when Demitricus looked at the god, flabbergasted at his actions. "No. We still have a lot to talk about."
"Well, why not? I think I should be rewarded for listening to you for twenty minutes straight."
"You— what?"
Florens scoffed and gave Hermes a side-glance. "Don't mind him. Just continue on, Demitricus."
Demitricus thanked Florens for her plea to continue, but everyone knew she said that for the sake of him finishing early. The more interruptions, the longer we would stay.
The only thing that kept me sane for the whole meeting was the thought of her. All I could think of was Veronica's beautiful smile and the way she laughed at my quips.
I know I told her to rest, but what if she didn't listen again? What if she wasn't sleeping right now and doing something else, and I could just leave now and finally see her?
Heavens below, I sounded like a mosquito desperate to cling to the light. But I couldn't help it. I always wanted to be around her, talk to her, just be where she is because she's there.
And now that we were somehow established, surely I had to do something romantic for her.
I could take her out on a date. Though I've never been on one before, I'm sure Hermes had.
Maybe I should ask him later once Demitricus finishes...
Or flowers. Were flowers tacky nowadays?
You fool, she literally kills them.
Shit, she did. The last thing I wanted to do was to watch her frown and ruin everything if I gave her fucking flowers as a romantic gesture.
This is impossible.
I crossed my arms and leaned back in my chair. How frustrating it was to think about the perfect thing for her, but it would be worth it if I get to see that look on her face.
Everything was worth it for her.
"Alright, are we done here?" Hermes interrupted Demitricus once more.
