PERSEPHONE

All Persephone did that day was spend time with Brie and Azura.

Turns out, Azura's monologue in the garden was only a scheme for her to return to the house where Brie was making preparations for her bachelorette party. Everything the angel had told her however, remained the truth.

Persephone didn't know what to expect from a party where only the three of them were involved, but it definitely wasn't drinking until two in the morning, playing a board game called Monopoly.

The game wasn't a good choice to play, especially when they kept screaming their protests and victories in the middle of the night, only to be cut off by Nixon's arrival.

Upon seeing him, Persephone immediately told the two girls that she felt tired and was going to bed. Nixon, still in his training attire, ran after her down the hallway.

He grabbed her wrist and Persephone gasped when he did, remembering what happened when he did that night.

Nixon immediately dropped it as if her skin had burnt him. She saw the guilt transpiring in him, but she didn't care. He could don puppy eyes for all she cared and she wouldn't bat an eye.

"We need to talk." He told her that night, his tone light but assertive.

"Tomorrow," was all she said in reply before entering her room and locking the door with an audible click.

They needed to talk, desperately. But Persephone's pride wouldn't allow it, not even if they were to be wedded today. Not even if they were supposed to spend their entire immortal lives together.

The sudden gleam of sunlight streaming through the windows made her eyes squint, the goddess' long ashy blonde hair shining. It was black for her entire life, only for it to change three months ago. What was the cause of it, she didn't know.

She did like it though. It suited her better than the black color ever had. The only downside of it was how it clashed with the pure white of her wedding dress.

As if it called out to her, she turned to look at it hanging next to the full-body length mirror. Thank gods her mother chose a simple one for her. It was a simple wrap dress with sheer white flowers glittering her shoulders cascading down into a long train that would flow with her movements.

(author's note: you really think i wouldn't choose her wedding dress tsk tsk i live for this shit)

It looked beautiful, and absolutely everything Persephone wasn't. She wasn't the spring goddess that could grow beautiful flowers, nor was she the pure bride they all expected her to be.
