Ari:

Today is the day. We are gonna rock and roll all night. That is if, Nate would show up for stupid rehearsals.

"Where is he?" Our conductor asks.

"Um, I'll try to find him," I said. I went and searched the school with no luck. Then I went back home.

"Ariana dear," Grandmother said, "Why are you here so early, I thought you had rehearsals for the big concert tonight."

"I do," I said, "but, we need Nate. Do you know where he is?" She bit her lip.

"He's at the beach," she said a little hesitantly, "But, Ari dear, don't push him, okay? He's had a rough day."

"Um, okay," I said, "What about?"

"It's not in my place to say, you go talk to him," she said.

"Okay," I said, "Bye grandma." I got into the truck. I wanted to drive the convertible but Alex took it to the orphanage, and Joey is out with the Mercedes. So, I'm stuck with a truck. But, it is a nice truck. Bright red with black flame like stickers on both sides. It's a cool car. I parked and quickly went to the beach. I scanned the area and then spotted Nate's brown hair. I ran to him. One thing, sneakers and sand don't mix.

"Nate!" I said, "What are you doing here, we've been waiting for you."

"I'm sorry," he mumbled looking down.

"Hey," I said, "What's wrong?" I sat down next to him, breathing hard.

"Nothing," he said, "Let's go." He started to get up and I grabbed his arm and pulled him back.

"Not until you tell me what's the matter," I said. Then I remembered Grandmother's warning. I can't push him.

"Oh, Ari, Ari, Ari," he said slightly smiling, "What am I going to do with you."

"Tell me what's wrong," I said, "I'll listen." He took a deep breath.

"Well," he said, "it's hard to explain. But I'll give ti a shot. Basically my family is coming to town." I waited.

"I don't see how that's bad," I said.

"I guess I'll have to start from the beginning," he said, "The reason why I'm here is because my parents decided to live in London with my little brother who is like the world's next prodigy. He's like the smartest thing on earth. I don't understand. But, he got into this special program thing when he was eleven and my parents went with him, leaving me with grandma and grandpa which I'll get to later. Anyway, when he was sixteen, two years ago, they said they were all coming back. But, he got invited to another program and my parents had become so attached to London, that they didn't see a reason to come back. Accept for the fact that I was still here, but what does that matter. They said that I was almost eighteen and could find my own place or keep staying with grandma and grandpa. I chose both, I have an apartment down the street, but usually I stay there, as you know. And as for grandma and grandpa, their not my real grandma and grandpa obviously, but my parent's parents were very close to them and they often came when we were little." He stopped.

"Wow," I said, "That's wow."

"Yeah," He said, "I know. It's lame. I'm here sulking about my parents not wanting to be with me and I'm eighteen years old."

"Hey," I said, "It's totally fine, I mean, I'd be doing the same thing. You lived without your parents since you were thirteen? Right?" He nodded, "That's terrible, and you deserve an apology, more than that, you deserve your on wyatt! For what they did." He laughed.

"Yeah, something tells me I won't be getting any of those," he said.

"I'll get you a wyatt," I said. He just smiled shaking his head.

"No, I don't deserve it," he said, "I haven't even talked to them, about it. Ari, I can't even confess to the girl I like."

"Speaking of that," I said, "Didn't you tell her at the party?"

"No," he mumbled, "I got scared."

"Well," I said, "Just a couple things you need to confess. You need to tell Addy you like her and talk to your parents."

"Wait!" He said, "How do you know it's Addy?"

"Nate, I can read you like a magazine," I said, "In fact, I can read, anyone, like a magazine. Even though I really hate reading magazines, I like series better."

"Did you tell her?" he asked.

"Nope," I said, "I'll leave the telling to you. Ooh. You can do it tonight she'll be there."

"And so will my parents," he said.

"Wait, they're coming today?!?!" I asked, eyes wide.

"Yeah," he said, "When they finally do decide to come, they don't even give me a warning!"

"That's so low," I said, "Oh, I'm gonna talk to them." He laughed.

"It's funny when you act tuff when you couldn't hurt an ant," he said.

"Are you calling me weak?" I asked.

"Um, yeah," he said.

"I'd murder you, but I need you as lead cellist," I said, "now come on." We went to the car and started driving, "What is your brother's name?" I asked.

"Daniel McNeal," he said.

"So you're Nathan McNeal?" I asked.

"Um, Yeah," he said, "Why?"

"One, after all this time, I haven't known your last name and I was thinking, Addy McNeal, hmmmm, I like it." His face turned red and he looked out the window. I burst out laughing.

"This is gonna be so much fun," I said.
