Ari:

"Spaghetti was delicious," my dad said, "thanks."

"So yummy," my mom said.

"And, I made cookies," I said. We munched on cookies in silence. Everything was quiet....Too quiet. My mom sighed.

"I miss them already," she said.

"So, Ari, when do you plan on starting school again?" My dad asked. School? What's school?

"Never," I said taking a bite of cookie.

"Never, huh," my dad said.

"Ari, you're starting next week weather you like it or not," my mother said.

"Yes ma'am," I said.

"You see?" My mom said to my dad, "You can't ask them these things."

"So, what movie are we going to watch tonight?" My dad asked.

"I don't want to watch a movie," I mumbled, "I'm just gonna go to bed. Night." I went upstairs into my room. I got my pajamas on and lay in bed. After a while, I fell asleep.

The next morning was cold and rainy. Perfect. Not. Alex hans't texted or FaceTimed me yet.

"I'm going to murder her," I muttered as I kneaded dough. Yes, I'm making bread.

"Murder I tell you, murder," I said.

"Ari, honey what are you doing?" My mom asked.

"Making bread," I answered glumly.

"You know, that, uh it takes like eight hours to rise, right?" My mom asked.

"Yes, I know," I said, "Well, now I do." She laughed.

"I never knew you liked baking," she said.

"Because I don't," I answered.

"You never cease to confuse me," my mom said grabbing an apple. Then a light bulb went off in my head. While I wait for my bread to rise, I'll make apple muffins! I set the bread aside and started on apple muffins. Then, I noticed all the bananas we had. I'll make banana muffins too. By noon, we hardly had any baking supplies left.

"Ever heard of the book," my dad said, "If You Give Ari A Bread Recipe?" He took a bite of banana bread with chocolate chips.

"No," I said, "I have not."

"Well, it goes like this," he said, "If you give Ari a bread recipe, she'll want to make the bread. Then, she'll realize that it takes a long time for the bread to rise. So, while the bread is rising, she'll make apple muffins. While making the apple muffins, she'll see the bananas and she'll make banana muffins too. She'll realize she still has bananas left and she'll make bandanna bread. Then she'll make banana bread with chocolate chips. Then she'll make chocolate chip cookies. Then she'll make peanut butter cookies covered with sugar. Then, she'll make sugar cookies. Then she'll-"

"LALALALALALA," I said covering my ears, "I CAN'T HEAR YOU!" He laughed. After eating lunch, I read a few books outside. The rain finally stopped. After rereading Anne of Green Gables for the billionth time, I went on a walk around the neighborhood. Then I came home and made cheeseburger pie.

"Nah, nah, honey I'm good. I could have another but I probably should not. I got somebody at home and if I stay I might not leave alone!" I sang.

"Ari! Turn that down and some boy is here for you," my mom called. I rolled my eyes ad paused my music. I exited the kitchen and went into the foyer where I al sot had a heart attack. I stood there, speechless.
