Ari:
"I have some good news and some bad news," my mom said. I slowly opened my eyes. We've been at the hospital all day. At lunch, we tried eating the hospital food, but then ended up going to Jimmy Johns instead. It was now 5:30 and I was ready to go to bed.

"The good news is, we can see him! The bad news is only Ari and I can," she said. Alex rolled her eyes.

"Stupid rules," she mumbled.

"But tomorrow you guys can see him too," she said.

"I never understood that rule," Alex exclaimed, "Why is only family? Why not super duper close friends that you live with!" I patted Alex's arm.

"You'll see him tomorrow," I said.

"Probably gonna change it to kids eighteen or older," she mumbled. I laughed and my mom and I went up. I was excited and scared. My mom's face was pale white. When we got to the room, fifth floor number 509, a doctor was waiting for us.

"Mrs. Chance?" He suggested.

"Yes," my mom chocked out.

"Before you go in," the doctor said, "There's a few things I need to tell you." We both nodded and I was starting to feel nervous, "When the car crashed, the vehicle was flipped upside down, am I correct?" My mom nodded, "You, could easily get out because the car was leaning towards the left side?" My mom nodded again, "Since the vehicle was leaning on the drivers side, your husband got stuck under the weight of the car." Why is he telling us this? I don't need a reminder!

"Yes," my mom said hoarsely.

"Well," the doctor said taking a deep breath, "The cars weight shattered the bones in both his legs. And his right arm." Absolute silence.

"There was no way that it could ever heal so we had to amputate them," the doctor said. My heart stops beating and my vision get blurry. Why do I keep fainting?

Nick:

No. No. No. Not again.

"Please," I beg the receptionist, "Please, please pleeeaaaseeeee." They let Alex go see her. They let her mother go see her. They. Will. Not. Let. Me. See. Her.

"I'm sorry, Nick," the receptionist said. Yes we've been here so long, she knows our names. I huffed and sat down on the the chair. I. Hate.This. Place. I hate. ARI! I immediately jump up. Alex had an arm around her shoulder, helping her stay up.

"I hate this place," Ari mumbled.

"Ari," I sighed with relief. Her bottom lip started to tremble.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Let's get home before she faints again," Alex said. Ew brought her to the car.

"Where are?" I started to ask.

"We'll pick them up later," Alex said, "Just drive." Yes ma'am. I started driving home glancing back at Ari every once in a while. Her face was at the same sickly greenish grey color.

"What happened?" I asked Alex under my breath. Alex gulped.

"I'll tell you later," she mumbled.

Alex:

The ride from the hospital made me think. I haven't called Mike, Addy, or Nate. They don't even know about this.

Mike:

"Guys! Guys! Guys!" I panted, "We need to go to," I took a breath, "Wisconsin." Breath, "Right now."

"Wait why?" Addy asked looking up from her book.
