Rhea finished making the gambas al ajillo with the help of her mother, Vera. Vera walked into the apartment not too long before Rhea had been done.
At the dining table, Raimana is seated in between Vera and Rhea with Xolani on Rhea's right. Eating while gossiping as women do, Rhea questions what's taking him so long.
Meanwhile, Aaron is in her bedroom bathroom on a call. He dismissed himself while Rhea had been cooking and has been on the phone for at least an hour now. She checked on him at a thirty minute period and he told her he was fine, he's just handling business.
Pacing back and forth on the smooth tiles with his phone clutched tightly in his left hand, Aaron speaks to the person on the other end as quietly as he can. "Why would she- just...can you hold her up til' I get there" Fuck. Aaron knew this could've possibly happened, he can never be happy for too long.
He couldn't get too comfortable with being happy, there would always be something to stop him.
It was just how his life worked.
After thanking Rhea and with the help of her mother for the meal, Xolani returned to her apartment just across to call Lincun, so they could talk about their day and end the night off with them falling asleep on the phone. Together.
It was their routine. It was their thing.
Rhea returned to the kitchen placing the dishes in the sink preparing to wash them until her mom steps in. "I'll do it, sunshine" Vera says.
"Are you sure mama?" Rhea asks with furrowed eyebrows, not wanting her mom standing for too long knowing she does have some back problems.
"Yes, baby" she reassures. Vera peeks into the living room watching her second born laying upside down on the couch. "Siéntate, mi amor. Acabas de comer" Raimana complies sitting up, hearing her mother's instruction. {Translation: sit down, my love. You just ate}.
On the other hand, while heading for her bedroom, Rhea notices Aaron walking out of her bathroom with anger evident on his face. Before she can even question him he speaks up, "I won't be back tonight, I'll see you tomorrow and I'm sorry for speaking that way to you earlier".
She can't even respond because of how much of a rush he seems to be in. Before stepping out of the door Aaron bids a 'later' to Raimana and Vera.
