I reeked of blood and it was really bad, like really really bad. The metalic scent was too intense but it didn't bother me, subsided by the worry eating me up. I stood outside the check up room located in the basement. Right now, the fact that there was a whole mini hospital underneath the floors of the mansion didn't surprise me. The surgery was still in action, the family doctor accompanied by a few nurses trustworthy enough to be near the injured man.
Multiple guards were guarding the mansion since an attack was possible due to Viktor being vulnerable.
My heart was thumping rapidly and loudly against my chest, almost jumping out. He couldn't die. I needed him more than anyone else in this mansion.
I couldn't help but chew onto my lower lip due to nervousness and worry. I didn't want anything happening to Viktor. We weren't even close, I barely knew him yet I was praying for his well being because for me he was like my savior. With his help, I could escape my old life and I was always going to be grateful for him.
The door two massive blue doors were pushed open revealing the doctor. Eve rushed to him and the man gave her a reassuring smile, a sigh of relief slipping through my lips when I saw it. "We successfully took out the bullet but it barely missed his live, Eve. Take care of him and be cautious. It will take him some time to gain his consciousness back."Eve nodded while I bit on my nails, teeth clattering down on my fingers.
"I could leave one of the nurses here to look after him."
The doctor pointed towards the three nurses standing along with him but Eve immediately dismissed the idea with a shake of her head. I understood why. No one could be trusted right now, hell not even me. I couldn't even fathom why I was allowed to be here besides but the other maids weren't.
"Thank you. That'll do. Our guard will see you to the exit." Eve shot a look at tall, buff man standing besides her with his arms crossed and he gave her a firm nod before leading the doctor out.
Everyone was busy talking to each other outside the doors that lead into this mini clinic. There were long hallways leading down multiple rooms with closed doors and I was sure they made this because going to an actual hospital could put them all in risk. Pale blue doors slammed open revealing the towering figure of the blonde. His face carried a hard, stern look and I gulped.
"I swear to god." He muttered, "I will kill that son of a bitch. He betrayed us and that's how the trading deal turned into this." Alexie explained while I listened intently.
The two conversed and I took this as my chance to enter the emergency room. I couldn't decipher what I felt after witnessing him in such a vulnerable state. Full of wires attached to him, an oxygen mask laying on top of his face. I never knew seeing him like this would put me in such worry, such worry I never felt before but here I was.
