Mia POV-"No, I never dated anyone" I lied, scared of the fact that the guy sitting in front of me can tell my parents that I dated Vaarin "what about you? How many girlfriends did you have?" I questioned back to dodge his next question
"I?" He pretended to think. Tanish, that was his name. Tall, brown, a little beard, hair gelled up, and formal outfit.
Well, appearance was never a problem, my mom and dad were always concerned about my height. My mom always said, " Mia your husband should be so hata kata and Lamba, no?" So they chose all good-looking guys for me, looking at the guy in front of me I subconsciously compared him to Vaarin, and you all already know the result.
So the main thing which is left is personality and occupation. I mean if he is in a government job or anything then I will prefer him to stay 100km away from me. Don't take me wrong but I just don't like their personality.
"Umm can't count in my both hands!" The guy replied. I looked at him as I tried to cover up my amused look.
Does he think dating a lot of girls is cool?
"I just want to be honest, you know" his voice held a bit of an American accent, and I forgot to mention a fake, fake American accent. Yes, he completed his studies in Canada and Now is working in New York. Didn't guessed yet? He is an NRI.
"Ya.." I replied as I took my drink in my hand and leaned back at the chair.
I held the straw with one hand and sipped my drink-
Seriously? This idiot? Fuck man my life is seriously getting fucked! It's not like I'm not tempted to get settled in New York but I have my own career here and he sounds like a casanova -
Say it directly bitch, You want Vaarin.
"So have you decided?" He said to draw my attention to him.
I sat back properly "hmm?" I asked to know what he was talking about
"Have decided? Is it a yes or no from your side?" I looked at him with wide eyes then forces a smile and looked down.
Hahaha, you wish besan ka laddu that I will marry you, not even in your dreams.
He misunderstood my actions as being shy.
"It's fine, take your time and tell your parents. I liked you maybe few more dates and then we can finalize it no?" He asked as he searched for something on his phone.
Okay, I don't want my to be husband's complete attention but he should know when to give me the importance and when not to, jerk. I'm saying no, don't worry.
"Hmm" I replied with a blank look
But if I keep continuing to meet him then mom and dad won't pressurise me to meet other guys, but I have to go back soon. It would be in my favor when I chose which guy I have to marry otherwise my parents are not letting me fly from here.
I sighed-
It's better if I chose the right guy, leave from here and get to know the guy!
"Okay then let's go?" Tanish said as he paid the bill
"You go, I actually have minor work so I will leave a little late" I stood up to bid him bye.
I smiled until I saw him closing the door and as soon as his back turned to me I stopped smiling.
I sat back with a sigh.
"Excuse me?" I said to the waiter passing by " Can I please get half bowl dal makhani, half bowl Shai paneer, and 2 tandoori roti with butter?" And the waiter agreed.
