Leaves crushed at my feet, every step I sprinted through the forest seemed to echo in the silence that spread throughout deep forest. Panting lightly sucking in a deep breath it fogged the air for a moment. There was a snap in the up coming opening, freezing on the spot I squinted glancing left then right. They're looking for me. With nowhere to hide I looked up. Letting out a long breath I relaxed my shoulders for a moment I leapt up four meters in the air and gripped onto a branch, followed by jumping up again until i'd made it ten meters up the tree. Wiping my hands clean of bark I stationed myself before looking down. There was two of them. Shutting my eyes I zoned in, ignoring critters scurrying along the nearby trees and forest floor all the way to the pair talking below me.
"God why on earth did she decide to leave on a bright day like this?" one hissed out still trying to locate me.
"She's a half breed dimwit. Sunlight means nothing to her other than a bad sunburn. I heard she can't even hypnotise a muggle yet." Growling to myself the pair stopped talking. Damn it focus! Getting out a rock from my pocket I tossed it across to a different tree and they turned their heads.
"Can't believe the master wants to do the ceremony tonight. She'll never be ready." They disappeared in a black smoke. My eyes opened looking up at the speaks of blue sky in the dense forest. Getting out the map stashed away in my bag I rolled it out checking off the clearing I'd made it to.
I'm closing in now. Once I've made it there they won't able to get me. Until father intervenes. Making sure it was clear before jumping down I landed softly on both feet before heading towards the clearing. If the map is correct then there should be a patch of mushrooms over by a river. Spotting it when almost stepping on it I quickly bit my thumb letting the dark blood drop onto the floor. The ground shook for a moment and a hole formed just beyond my feet.
They can't be far so the only way is down. Jumping in not 100 percent sure if this would lead to anything good but it's better than those mindless minions. I walked through a body height tunnel with tree roots I tread lightly easily seeing in the pitch-black tunnel. My eyes were more than likely glowing a bright red. Why didn't mum make this any easier? Suddenly the ceiling above me grumbled. So far I'd been walking almost an hour. Stopping I watched as a hole formed just in front of me and a bright light beamed into the tunnel. Jumping out of the tunnel I cleared the dirt from my hair."And some just came onto the field!" Squinting looking around trying to focus from the brightness change.
There was a crowd of people and there cheering died down staring at me."Hey look out." There was a growling sound whipping about towards me. It looked rusty, wait this is quidditch? I dodged one hit sighing. I need to lay low not stand in the middle of a field with a crowd of people.
"What are you doing in the field? What house are you in?" Blinking at the woman in dark blue robes I heard the same noise as before. Trying to step closer to the woman at the exit I let out a gasp when an arm wrapped around me waist.
"You trying to get yourself hurt? Bludgers are a nasty hit." I was place in front of the guy who grabbed me, he had shaggy orange hair and amazing brown eyes that shone like gold in the centre. He was worn out from the game and I just gaped at him. It's not every day I meet someone with such colour filled eyes. Everyone I know has soulless eyes.
"You have beautiful eyes." He was immediately shocked and gulped loudly. His heart rate pulsing as I stared at him. The boy looked at me gaping at him when I noticed the bludger coming for us again. Grabbing the bat in his hand I growled suddenly annoyed with all the shitty things that have happened today.
"What are you...." I slammed the bat into the so-called bludger breaking the bat in two.
"Piss off!" I shouted at it watching the annoying ass ball in the distance. Everyone's eyes followed.
"Bloody hell." The guy said not moving. Standing up on the broom he tried keeping me still but didn't say anything stunned as I flipped off the broom landing on the ground effortlessly. Tossing the end of the bat behind me you could hear a cricket chirp as I left the field from the other side away from the teacher.
Is this really the school mother told me about? Walking towards the castle knowing people would start looking for me I just needed to find this one thing to get some answers. It was quite the walk to the castle but the closer I got I heard more students. They knew a quicker way. Stepping into the shaded corner I watched a group walk past.
"Who the hell was the girl? A 7th year?"
"Right because in our last year we'll be able to do a ten-metre dive off our brooms! God James, I swear you're an idiot. She's an outsider." Glaring at them walking past I waited a moment before making my move.
