Lando was feeling down. He'd had his lowest finish in the season. And it didn't help that Monaco was the next track. Not only was it one of the tracks that he liked the least but it was also his teammate's, who'd finally finished ahead of him, favorite and best track. He was screwed.
But his best friend, Max, and his trainer Jon had encouraged him to spend a little more time in the simulator to build up his confidence. Max had also kept him distracted by taking him to play golf. All that was missing was Elena, who'd been stuck in rehearsals for her first major performance. She would do a virtual performance for MTV on the night of her album release that Friday evening. Lando understood that she couldn't be there but couldn't help but feel a bit needy as she wasn't paying any attention to him.
As he and Max were leaving the golf club, due to the rain, an unexpected FaceTime call from Elena came through. Although unexpected the boy gladly accepted the call, excited to see his girlfriend.

"Hi babe. Wait why am I looking at Max's back?" "Oh crap my camera's gone and flipped itself."
Elena smiled as she watched her boyfriend try to flip his camera so it would show his face and not Max's back.
"There you go. How are you gorgeous? And how the heck do you guys have sun while I'm stuck in the frickin rain." Elena giggled at his antics.
"I'm good. How are you? I hope you are not going too hard on yourself in the simulator. And aren't you going to get sick walking around in the rain like that?" The girl knew that Lando put himself under so much pressure and made sure to remind him that regardless of his results he was still loved and that his team wouldn't dare drop him.
" I'm also doing good. And yes don't worry, I make sure to take breaks from the simulator." Max chimed in as he heard this. "LIAR, he's lying to you Ellie. I had to lock the door to gaming room and I took away his MTC pass key."
Elena frowned as she heard this. She was genuinely worried for her boyfriend. She knew that what people were saying on social media was effecting him and he'd forced himself to shed his more playful mannerisms and become more mature. It broke her heart to see the way he'd walk past his gaming without a second glance, avoiding the temptation to go on live as he usually would whenever he got the chance. But people had complained that he did more streaming than actual Formula 1 related work.
"Oh babe why didn't you tell me. You know what I think I'm going to fly in early. Instead of meeting up with you in Monaco, I'll come to you on Saturday afternoon."
"But wouldn't that mean you'd miss your own release party. I can't ask you to do that. And anyway you'd be tired from the performance." Lando knew that Elena was trying to cheer him up but he didn't want her putting her health at risk. He knew that after the Monaco grand prix she had back to back appearances in the U.S and on a few British shows. She needed the few days before the gp to relax and prepare.
