29. 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞

Daniel looked at the couple in disbelief. The two future parents were bickering, again, in Lando's drivers room. A box sat on  the drivers couch with each of them occasionally pointing at it.

"These flipping children."
Muttered Daniel.

"Lando."
Elena said dragging out the o. Lando gulped as he knew he'd taken it to far.

Recently, mostly due to her mood swings, Elena had unlocked what Max and Carlos had dubbed as the mom voice. You know the voice your mother uses before she goes off at you. And she'd used it a few times, specifically for her management when they tried to remove her from the tour. She was adamant on working until she couldn't anymore.

"Fine I'll give them the box."

Daniel decided to save his teammate.

"Or why don't you do it like your contract signing video. Only this time there's no horrible acting from Andreas and Zak. Just call them into the boardroom and slide it over the table."

"Finally someone with a brain!"
Exclaimed Charlotte.

The press officer had found out about the pregnancy after observing Elena's strange habits and the way Lando coddled her. She already knew that he would do anything she asked but there was a whole new level to it now. After cornering the Spanish girl, they'd gone back and forth until Elena spilled the beans. Lando had not hesitated to tell her how she'd ruined her own surprise.

"Well what are we waiting for. Let's get Henrik and get on with it."

"Ahahah Ellie. Have you called your parents to check in and have you talked to Carlos?"
Asked Charlotte.

Both Lando and Elena's parents demanded daily. Sometimes they could settle for a picture of the non existent but probably forming bump. And other days they would have a phone call and ask to speak to the baby. Elena's step father would read baseball articles to them while Lando's dad would read over some of the business reports. And their mothers took this as a chance to discuss family gossip. It was a weird family dynamic but it worked as this would allow the couple to take a nap.

"Yes actually, my dad wanted to discuss all of the ways that today's game could go wrong and my mom was complaining about the Christmas seating arrangement. Apparently Giannina refused to sit next to me, as if I'd like to sit next to her loud self."
The group nodded as they watched her expression turn gloomy.

"Ok. I'll get the bosses to the conference room and you get Henrik. It's show time. "
Charlotte said as she pointed at Daniel.

"Wow. This is so crazy. To believe that just three years ago you were like little kids. Still are to be honest but wow."
Zak did in disbelief as he looked at the ultrasound photo in his hand.

"I know. But uhm do you guys know that you're having twins? "
Asked Andreas Siedl as he tilted the photo to get a better view.

"No we're not. Right Elena?"

"Wait what?"

Responded the couple.

"Looks like there's two different embryos, definitely fraternal twins. I remember seeing the same thing on my sister's scan."
Confirmed Michael who had been standing with Daniel.
