"No. No way in hell!" Elena argued as she glared up at the two boys.
"Come on Ellie. Charlotte can't come with because of a stomach bug and you can finally put what you've learnt from university into practice. I mean if I had a communications degree, I wouldn't let it sit and waste away." Max pleaded with the girl.
"Max, honey, there's a reason why you don't have a communications degree. But I agree with them, go to Italy! It will be fun and I know you miss your Karting days." Added Makhyli.
"Wait you karted!? Now you definitely have to come with me. I'll even let you take it for a spin." Lando begged her.
It was silent for a moment as she tried to gather her thoughts.
"Let's say I do take the temporary job, what do I need to do?" The group cheered, Max and Makhyli more than Lando.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you Elena. You're a goddess!" Said Lando as he rushed up to his room to call Charlotte to get a ticket for Elena.
"Wait you still haven't told me what I'll be doing! " The singer yelled as her ex disappeared into another room.
Meanwhile Max sat on the couch, furiously typing away on his phone as he alerted the group that Elena and Lando had fallen into their trap. What the duo didn't know was that Charlotte was in completely good health, despite her telling Lando that she had a stomach bug. Once Max and Daniel mentioned the group's plan she'd offered to act sick so the two could travel alone. Even Cisca had stepped in and convinced her parents that they needed to stay home instead of going to Italy to support her brother. Initially she felt guilty but Oliver bribed her with a shopping spree and she suddenly felt no remorse. Max had then closed the deal by planting the idea of Elena being his press officer for the week, mentioning her almost complete degree in communications. The Bristol boy took the bait and didn't hesitate to ask her.
Everything was going according to plan.
