Winter's POV:

Since Quackity was running, Wilbur was forced to hold a debate. I was not looking forward to it. Public speaking could die in a hole for all care.

The debate was to be held in Tubbo — sorry, Big Law's sky court. Wil told me to get a lot of sleep because the debate would be very long.

I still couldn't sleep when I wanted to. I'd gone without decent sleep for days.

I climbed up on the walls. I didn't go to the edge like normal, instead I leaned against one of the small towers in each corner.

I was still wary of sleeping up here, but it was the only place I could even fall into a light sleep.

I reminisced over what had happened the last few months. I had been kidnapped twice, died twice, almost died a handful of times.

This was a lot more fun and interesting than what I had been doing for the past eight years.

God, why couldn't I do this sooner.

I felt truly alive here. I had friends, family and a purpose. I smiled as I looked over the peaceful country.

Maybe it was all worth it.

I fell into a deep sleep.

The waves crashed against the beach. I sighed and smiled. At least I was sleeping.

I sat down and hugged my knees to my chest. I started thinking about tomorrow.

Who was Quackity's running mate? Did he have one? What about a secretary of state? Who would I debate against?

These thoughts kept running in circles through my head. Who? Who? Who?

I eventually heard the beat of wings behind you. my head lifted slightly off my knees.

Feet thudded into the sand and I whirled around.

And there they were.

I stood up and ran over. I wrapped my hands around their waist and buried my face into their chest.

"I missed you." I mumbled into their chest. They parted my head.

I broke the hug and they kneeled down.

They brought their hand — if I could call it that — to my chin. I leaned into their palm. They didn't speak but I knew what they were saying.

"You've grown so much."

I just looked at XD. They looked no different to the last time I saw them. They were elegant yet terrifying.

"I've missed you so much."

They sat down and I sat with them. I missed the night where you'd just sit together.

Eventually they stood up. I stood beside them. I barely came up to their waist.

They picked me up and placed me on their shoulder. I hated the silence, so I decided to fill it.

I started recounting what had happened in the last six months.

No doubt they'd already seen these things but I just wanted to talk.

Once you'd finished the story, I looked at them. They silently scoped me off their shoulder and placed me on the floor.

"Time to wake up, Winter."
