Narrator's POV:
Wil stood up on the podium, surrounded by the other parties as he held a piece of paper. Winter was sat in the crowd straight backed, looking presentable in her new uniform.
"I have in my hands the election results." his voice rang over the silent country. "In fourth place is Coconut2020 with 9% of the popular vote." Niki visibly sighed with relief, she wasn't ready to run the country.
"With 16% of the popular vote, in third place is Schlatt2020." Winter sighed in slight relief. That only left the two main parties. Winter was holding her breath — everyone was."
"With 30% of the popular vote, in second place is..." the tension was so thick, you could cut it with a knife. "SWAG2020." Winter took a breath in. They had done it. She let a smile break onto her face. Tommy looked like he was going to explode with happiness.
"And in first with 45% of the popular vote, is POG2020." the crowd clapped.
"We did it, Wilbur!" Tommy yelled, punching the air. "Tommy." Wilbur said. Winter's heart dropped.
There was more. They hadn't won. There was still the deal.
"Wilbur! We won!" Tommy cheered. "Tommy-" Wil was cut off by Tommy's cheering.
"TOMMY! TOMMY STOP CELEBRATING." Wilbur yelled over the younger's cheers.
Tommy fell silent. Winter swallowed the lump in her throat.
"On the night of the 20th, after the announcement of Coconut2020 and Schlatt2020, the leader of SWAG2020, Quackity and the leader of Schlatt2020, made a deal to pool their votes."
Winter ran the numbers quickly.
So that means-
"So with 46% of the popular vote, the coalition government of SWAG2020 and Schlatt2020, has won the election." Tommy started to protest but Wilbur just spoke louder.
"So on 22nd of September, JSchlatt has been inaugurated as president." Wilbur finished. Tommy tried to protest as Wilbur took him to sit down. With a few inaudible words from Schlatt, they finally sat down with Winter.
"Well, that was pretty easy." Schlatt started. Winter's blood boiled but she kept her composure. Tommy was a different story however.
"And you know what I said the day that I got unbanned from the Dream SMP and the day I said I was running?" Not much actually. Winter hadn't really remembered much from the day the two extra parties were announced.
"An election that I won, by the way." Winter felt herself rise in her chair slightly but Wilbur's hand on her shoulder pushed her back down.
"I said, 'Things are going to change.' I looked every citizen of L'Manberg in the eyes and I said, 'You listen to me: This place will be a lot different tomorrow.' Let's start making it happen."
Winter's heart felt as if it couldn't sink lower, but it did.
"My first decree as the president of L'Manburg - the EMPEROR of this great country - is to REVOKE the citizenship of Wilbur Soot and TommyInnit!" the man borderline shouted. Winter was in a state of shock as her brother's and friend's name was called out.
Honestly, she expected her name as well.
The two men beside her stood up and she looked up at them. She went to stand up as well but Wilbur forced her into her seat. He was telling her to stay. Maybe not verbally, but she still understood.
This country will need you.
"Get them out of here! Get them out of here! You're no longer welcome!" Niki shouted in protest and people started firing arrows on the fleeing men.
Winter was rooted to the ground, staring as they ran. Tears threatened to fall onto her pale, porcelain like cheeks.
She then watched as an arrow plunged itself into her brother's chest. Winter watched her brother fall to the floor for the second time.
A single tear rolled down her cheek before she wiped her face and turned back to the laughing president.
Schlatt would pay for that.
She would make sure of that.
