LISA'S POV
"So what kind of things do you draw or sketch?" Jennie asked me as she bit into the apple I gave her. There goes my lunch
I opened my book and started turning the pages, showing her everything I drew. "These are all amazing!" She exclaimed while studying every page as her mouth hung open in awe
"Yeah, drawing and doing anything art-related helps me express what I feel and that's the main reason why I like it" I explain as I turned the book around, flipping it to a new blank page
I then looked at Jennie, who was just smiling at me, "What's up with you?" I asked bluntly
She shook her head. "Nothing. Just thinking...so since you can draw anything. Can you draw me?" She asked blushing a bit and looking at the grass
I stared at her, thinking. "Okay" I responded
She looked up at me surprised. "Really?" I nodded my head
Why not?
"And I didn't even have to beg this time" she added smiling brightly and finishing up her apple. She then quickly got up to dispose of her apple core and sat back down in front of me
"So is there a certain way I have to pose or what?" She asked curiously
"Just be you, I guess" she nodded her head. She then began to move around getting herself situated. She turned sideways, lifting her knees to her chest, while crossing her arms on them, then laid her cheek on her knee staring at me
I sharpened my pencil and began to draw. Everything around me now became meaningless, because the only thing I was concentrating on was the paper in front of me and Jennie
I wanted to start by drawing her face, so I looked up and started studying her features. I know I've said Jennie wasn't bad looking, but I've never really looked at her and studied her
She's beautiful
I continued studying her long soft gray hair, calmly flowing in the breeze. Is it weird that I want to touch it? I then moved my eyes to her face and began studying it as well. I noticed how young-looking and smooth her milky skin looked. She's not wearing makeup and she still looks beautiful
Her cat eyes, her eyebrows. It was nice. I then looked at her nose, it wasn't perfect, but at the same time, it was. It was straight and a little round, but it suited her nicely. I then looked down at her soft lips and saw how pink and plump they were. I don't know how I didn't notice how soft they were before when she kissed me all the time
I finally averted my eyes and looked up into her brown eyes that were glistening with joy. I watched as they stared at me in a way I couldn't explain, but for some reason it made my heart skip a beat. I grabbed my chest but made sure not to break eye contact with her because for some reason I didn't want to look away because I was afraid I would miss something. Me afraid? How weird, but I don't care at the moment
I then noticed her face moving and cheeks getting red, causing me to snap out of my trance. "Is everything okay?" She asked
"Yeah, everything's fine. I was just studying your facial features, so I can draw you" I said clearing my throat and looking back down at my sketchbook
"Are you sure? Because you look a little flushed from here?" She asked sounding concerned
I felt my face and noticed how warm they were, what was going on?
Wait am I...blushing?
I quickly put my hand down and began drawing. "I'm just a little hot since it's a little warm out here, so can you stop moving and talking so I can hurry and draw you?" I asked frustratingly
She quickly put her face back down and closed her mouth and looked at me once again. When she was situated, I began sketching away. It didn't take me long until I was done. It only took me about 10 minutes, since drawing people is a walk in the park for me
"Finished," I said putting my pencil down and closing my sketchbook. "Whoa hold up! Can I look at it?" Jennie asked reaching for the book
"I guess" I replied handing her the book
She turned it around and her face lit up immediately. I watched as her eyes darted around every inch of the page, not missing a single detail
"My wife is such an amazing artist!" She shouted smiling ear to ear. She put the book down and then in a matter of seconds, she threw herself on me, causing me to fall backward on my back
I should be used to this by now, but I'm not
"Jen, you're heavy. Get off me" I spat out while sighing. She looked at me puffing out her cheeks. "You're such a meanie head," she said slowly getting off me
She sat up crossing her legs together, facing me. "I was just complimenting you"
"You can do that without tackling me"
"But that wouldn't be fun" she replied smirking and tilting her head
I looked at her and mentally rolled my eyes, she's such a kid. I grabbed all my things and stood up and began walking away, but stopped
"Are you coming?" I asked while my back was facing her. I heard shuffling behind me and saw Jennie standing by my side grinning, like a little kid. She's so annoying
"On to PE!" She shouted holding her arm straight in front of her and pointing her finger
"You look stupid doing that"
"I don't care" she still smiling as we began walking to the locker room
She's so stupid
I don't know how she made it this far, with only half a brain
I felt a hand grab my arm stopping us from walking. "Oh my gosh!" Jennie said looking at me with wide eyes
"What is it?"
She quickly began dragging me to the gym locker room and made me look in the mirror
I looked in the mirror and couldn't believe my eyes...I was smiling or more like smirking for the first time in my life
I lifted both my hands and began touching my mouth, memorizing every touch of my smirk. This is strange, I didn't even feel myself smirk. I don't even remember feeling happy. Well besides a few seconds ago, when I was thinking about Jennie. Wait...what?
"This is weird," I said still touching my facing and looking at Jennie through the mirror
"It's not weird, it's normal" She replied still smiling from ear to ear
"Everyone better be outside and ready to run laps in 5 minutes! If one person is late, then everyone's running extra laps! No excuses!" The coach yelled while walking down the aisle in the locker room
I stared at her, watching her disappear, and turned my attention back to my face, still studying my mouth. So weird, but I like it
I then looked up and made eye contact with myself and saw nothing but emptiness inside my plain brown eyes. Now if only I had lived in my eyes...kind of like Jennie's, then I would be happy
