The bell finally blessed everyone in the room with its obnoxious ringing, signaling the end of class and the start of lunch break. Jana packed her bag and was about to move out the class when she was called by the teacher.

"Jana, can you stay after class for a bit?"

Now that sounded ominous. Either Jana had caused trouble or was failing that class. She presumed the latter. The classroom was empty except for her and the chemistry teacher.

"What is it, Mrs Kim?"

"Jana, I know you're a bright student, but lately you've been getting low grades in your quizzes. Is there something you're struggling with?"

Yup, definitely the latter. Jana sighed and fiddled with her bag strap.

"No particular struggle per say, I just find chemistry a bit hard."

"Would you like me to assign a tutor for you?"

"No no! I'll be fine on my own."

"Okay then. Just know that you can ask me whenever you don't understand, alright? For the time being, I'll give you some assignments to raise your marks a bit. And since Jimin didn't attend today, please give him these work sheets and tell him to see me first thing tomorrow when he comes."

"Alright. Thank you, Mrs Kim."

She gathered the sheets and assignments and headed out. She sighed for the hundredth time. Not only did she have to prepare Jimin's notes, but also solve some extra chemistry assignments. She knew she shouldn't complain, after all she got a chance to not fail that class, but still she would forever despise this horrendous subject. At least their teacher was nice.

She was about to step towards her locker when she was trapped in a bone crushing back hug.

"Ugh, Jungkook let go!"

She heard him laugh before he let her go and moved to stand in front of her.

"That hurt, you muscle pig!"

"Not my fault you're a chopstick."

She puffed her cheeks and narrowed her eyes, glaring at him only for him to laugh some more. She looked away from him then made her way to her locker as she originally planned, this time with Jungkook tagging along.

"So, mind telling me where you went yesterday?"

She took a glance at him, his smile completely gone as his face morphed into a solemn expression. She knew there was no way out of this one; Jungkook was one hell of a stubborn kid.

"I went to get some KitKat and got carried away when I was walking back. You know I space out a lot."

She reached her locker and proceeded to place her bag and supplies. She really hoped she looked natural as she spoke; she could barely bring herself to lie to Jungkook, mostly because he would immediately see through her and call her out for it.

"And you didn't bother letting me know?"

"I don't need to tell you every single detail about my life."

"You know I worry."

"Well, you don't have to."

"How could I not? Jana, we dropped you off at ten and you were missing till twelve. What if something bad happened to you?"

"Look, I already had that talk with Seokjin. I don't need to hear this again."

She stepped back with a flinch when her locker slammed shut as soon as she placed her supplies.

"Jungkook, what the fuck!"

She stared at him with her eyes opened wide. His own eyes were narrowed and sharp. Jana could only look away, anxiety taking over her.

"Don't look at me like that." She muttered as she returned to open her locker and grab her pencil case and a notebook.

"It scares you, doesn't it"

"No. . ."
It did. It always intimidated her when Jungkook got serious, especially since he'd mostly be all smiley and playful. But there was no way she would admit that to him.

"Since when did you start lying to me?" He said calmly, a hint of sadness in his tone.

She could only stay silent after hearing that. She hated when she had to lie to him; they both had promised to always stay truthful, always. But she didn't plan on telling him what was wrong any time soon. Not a year ago and definitely not now. She knew Jungkook had good intentions, but telling him would only stress him out and wouldn't do any good for her; she would just worry more about him.

"Jana-"

"Jungkook, nothing happened okay? I'm safe, I'm fine."

He stared at her with a blank face, still skeptical about her reply. He knew how good of liar she could be, but if anyone could see through her it would be Jungkook. Jana was internally praying that he would just let it go, but knowing Jungkook, he would never give up until he got the answer he wanted. With yet another heavy sigh, she wrapped her arms around him. He flinched at the sudden action but instantly relaxed.

"If anything wrong happens, you'll be the first one I call, Jungkook. I promise."

"You promise?" He asked as he wrapped her arms around her, returning her hug.

"I promise."

"You better keep that promise."

"I will." she smiled.

"Okay, now that this k-drama is over," he quickly pulled away and tugged at her sleeve so that she would follow him. "let's go to the cafeteria, I'm starving."

"Ah! Wait," He stopped and looked at her as she continued. "I have to go to the library. I want to revise a few chemistry lessons, quarter exams are approaching."

"But, what about lunch? You can't eat in the library."

"Don't worry about that. I'm not really hungry, I had a big breakfast."

"Oh, alright then. Can you come over today? We haven't hung out together in a while."

"Yes, of course. I'll have to go home first, though, so don't wait for me."

"Yay. Alright, good luck with your studying." He showed his wide smile that showed his bunny teeth as he turned to leave for the cafeteria, waving at her as he walked away.

She waved back and turned around, irritatedly sighing as her face fell into a grim visage. She started to get easily stressed again. She mentally reviewed the things she had to do: she had to study for the exams, do the extra chemistry assignments, and give Jimin his notes. Not to mention practice the choreography and meet up with Jungkook after school. She'd have to stop by Jimin's house first before making it to Jungkook's. Speaking of Jungkook, lying to him seemed to add up to her stress. The last thing she wanted was for her relationship with him to fall apart, and lying always leads to chaos. But she was lying for a good cause, right? It's not like it was any of his business anyway, she shouldn't feel bad.
