Chapter 23- Bad guy

(Really short chapter, sorry! :C )

Bendy's POV

We ended up being fine. The nurses, who had been in a meeting, walked in and stopped everything. Percy, Felicity, and the strange man were punished with isolation.

The room began to clear out, with grumpy patients slowly shuffling out to the playroom. However, I remained. Alice, Barley, and I remained. Boris had been taken to the infirmary after being knocked out. There were a few nurses searching for Charley. He made a good decision to hide.

I really wanted to kick his ass.

"Charley better stay hidden if he knows what's good for him." I grumbled.

"You don't mean that, do you?" barley asked me.

"Oh I mean it all right. I'm gonna beat him when I see him.".

"Why?".

"Did you not see what he did?! He pushed me INTO danger! What kind of friend does that?!".

"He was just scared.".

"That's not an excuse! He still shouldn't have abandoned me like that! What kind of friend does that?!".

"Then maybe he wasn't your friend.".

"And what is that supposed to mean?!".

"He would've never done that to Edgar or I and were his friends. Just saying.".

"Oh really? Because last time I checked I'M the only one defending him from bullies and actually trying to help him!".

"And are you suggesting that you treat him better than I do?" He scoffed. "That's funny.".

"I DO! You haven't done anything to help him!".

"Yes, I have. You just weren't around to see it.".

"Then why don't you do anything now?!".

"Because it's not that simple, Bendy! That's what I've been trying to explain!".

"How?! How is it not simple?!".

"Because Charley isn't simple!".

"So you're calling him weird?!".

"Not at all! I'm just saying his brain works differently than yours and mine! So getting him help isn't easy!".

"Not like you could help him anyways. You didn't help when he was running for his life!".

"I couldn't! I was grabbed before I could react!".

"Why didn't you try and wiggle free?!".

"I did!".

I then said something I regret. I don't know why it was a good thing to say, I was just incredibly angry.

"Well maybe if you stopped cutting yourself, you'd have the strength to fight back!".

I froze. He did, too. The look of sadness and shock on his face was what caused me to feel bad. What was I doing? I was angry at Charley and releasing my frustrations onto Barley.

I sighed. "Barley I'm sor-".

"No. I see how it is now. You don't want me around? Then I'll leave.".

He picked up one of the plate shards that was lying next to his foot. I became even more panicked. I was worried he would stab himself. Or stab me.

Thankfully he didn't, though what he did wasn't any better.

"Hey nurse! Over here!" he waved the shard in the air.

Three of the nurses quickly acted as they ran towards him. He looked back at me with a smug look. He then rolled up his sleeve and gave himself a long vertical cut. I gagged as I watched him do it, his blood forming a pool on the floor.

"Charley won't be happy when he learns what you've done.".

He was then grabbed by the nurses and dragged away. The whole time he was staring at me with a menacing grin, a trail of blood following him.

I felt like throwing up from anger, sadness, and fear. I turned to Alice who was sobbing.

"Why did you say that? Now he's gonna suffer...".

"I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking.".

"I can tell. I can tell.".

She turned away from me as she slowly wobbled towards the playroom. Not once did she give a second glance.

I stood in the middle of the cafeteria, feeling like a moron.

Have I become the bad guy?
