Bendy's POV:

I stumbled out into the playroom. I felt awful. I had no one to sit with, either. Charley was still hiding, Boris was in the infirmary, Alice refused to face me, Barley was in the basement, and Edgar was not here anymore.

I sat on the floor, as Alice was at my usual table. I didn't want to talk to anyone. I needed time alone.

'What a nice group of friends I've made'.  Yeah, that didn't last long. I started to lose hope. I can't even protect them against a simple attack, how am I supposed to protect them from whatever tries to stop us from leaving?

I feel like things have gone wrong ever since I came here.

Barley has cut himself twice, Charley's mood swings are much worse, and Boris and Alice are more tense and anxious.

I feel like I'm the cause of their problems.

Perhaps I'd be better off if I gave up.

...

No.

I can't give up. I promised them freedom. I promised Edgar that they would be free. I can't break a promise. No matter how much we get on each other's nerves, we must stick together.

Although the Charley and Boris incident weren't my fault, I had some apologizing to do.

Besides, I'm not good at holding grudges.

Though I might as well take my mind off it. I grabbed a book off a nearby shelf and opened a random page. It was all about dinosaurs.

I was planning on only looking at the pictures, but soon found myself reading paragraphs at a time.

Short attention spans come in handy sometimes.

Boris' POV:

I groaned as I opened my eyes and sat up, rubbing my head in pain. I had such a massive headache. I squinted as I looked around. Where was I?

The room was clean, with white concrete walls and while tile flooring. I was lying in a bed with white blankets and pillows. Next to me was a singular brown wooden nightstand, with a red rose inside a terracotta flowerpot.

I rose to my feet slowly, careful not to agitate the throbbing in my head.

It wasn't long until a nurse approached me. She was different than the others, though. She had a white lab jacket with a red cross on the right breast pocket. The pocket was filled with pens. She had on a nametag and was holding a clipboard.

She looked like a real nurse. A nurse who actually cared.

"I'm glad to see you up and moving!" She cheered.

"Heh, yeah...".

"So, can you tell me what happened?".

"Oh, well. It's a long story. Yesterday a few friends and I decided to sit together on the floor. The nurses didn't like that and ended up locking the entire asylum in their rooms.".

She wrote on her clipboard. "Please continue.".

I listened to her. "And because of that everyone is mad at us. Today at breakfast some guy smashed a plate and began chasing two of my friends around with the shards. That's when I was knocked out.".

"Yikes, that sounds bad! Well, it's safe to say there's no noticeable brain damage, but please be careful next time!".

"i'll try.".

"Do you know if any of your friends are injured?".

"No idea.".

"Can I have their names so I can check?".
