Barley's POV:

It was 3:50. I stopped reading the book I had and stood up. I had that feeling of butterflies in my stomach again. I was so nervous I felt like throwing up.

So much depended on this dumb kitchen job. Bendy's forgiveness and my sanity.

How hard could it be though? I paid attention in culinary classes during high school, and I've always cooked for my younger siblings when babysitting them. I'm sure it wouldn't be too bad. It's cooking, for Christ's sake!

As I got to the kitchen, I immediately noticed what was on the menu.

Seafood. My specialty! I'm really good at seafood! It's all I've really made since I lived by the ocean.

It was specifically shrimp and salmon with an optional salad. Though there were other things to be made. Macaroni and cheese and turkey sandwiches for those who couldn't eat seafood. Both are really simple! Pouring drinks were obviously simple as well.

The only thing I was worried about was Harrison. That grumpy old hag. He's so unnecessarily mean! I once saw him pour extra salt on someone's chicken because they complained about it being cold. It was really cold. Raw, too. I didn't eat it. I also saw him put peanuts on someone's donut and told them they were almonds. That guy was allergic to peanuts! He ended up going to the hospital!

I was going to make sure nothing like that happened while I was here.

I really wish he took a vacation or something. Sadly, that wasn't the case. We would be working together in the kitchen. Even worse than working alone!

All I knew was that I couldn't let anyone I knew see me in here. I didn't want anyone, especially Bendy, to know what I was up to. If he did it would spoil the whole surprise.

"hey! Wheat! You done daydreaming over there?!" Harrison snapped at me.

I shook myself out of it. "Yep! I'm good!".

"Good now get over here and start peeling the shells!".

I knew that the shells added flavor and prevented them from being overcooked. Though I didn't say anything. He'd probably chop my head off.

I walked over to the counter before realizing something. "Uhh, where are the gloves?".

"The hell you talking about?".

"Gloves. To stop cross-contamination. We're handling raw meat.".

"You don't need gloves! Use your hands like a real man!".

I went over to the sink and washed my hands really well. I didn't support this chef's practices at all. Maybe if I just scrubbed my hands enough, it'd be fine.

I headed back over to the counter, rolled up my sleeves, and began to peel the shrimp. He walked away and began boiling water for the pasta.

"Once you're done with the shells, prepare the salmon too!" he ordered me. I just rolled my eyes as I continued. It would take a while before everything was prepared. There were about 300 people to feed!

I just hoped nobody figured out what I was doing.

Bendy's POV:

I could hear nurses informing people it was lunch time. Or was it dinner? I really didn't know anymore. I didn't feel like eating. How could I when Alice was in the hospital?

I had stopped crying but was still upset. My grief was interrupted by a nurse.

"Cmon Bendy, I know you're sad but its time to eat.".
