Fili’s POV

“Hold on!” Thorin shouted over the crack of lightning and thunder. Rain poured down from the sky making the ridge that we were using through the mountain wet and slippery.
“Ahhh.” Bilbo slipped and started to fall forward but Dwalin and Torien grabbed Bilbo and pulled him back.
“We must find shelter!” Thorin shouted again.
“Look out!” Balin shouted as a huge stone flew across the sky and hit the rocks above us.
“Hang on brother.” I shouted to Kili as he shouted out to the rest of us.
“This is no thunderstorm!” Balin announced. “It’s a thunder battle!”
“Stone giant, look!” Torien shouted point into the haze across the canyon.
“Well, bless me!” Shouted Oin in amazement. “The legends are true.”
“Take cover you fools!” Torien shouted as another rock flew through the air.
“Hold on.” Dwalin shouted as the ridge split below halving the company.
“Kili grab my hand!” I shouted but his ridge had already moved to far away. Our ridge hit the edge of the original path and we all ran across onto it. We all watched as Kili’s ridge moved far to the left before coming straight back at us. The ridge moved parallel to us as many of us called out to our kin.
“Jump!” Thorin shouted but it was too late. The ridge came crushing down on top of the other edge of our ridge.
“Kili!” I cried out as I pushed past Dwalin but Thorin held out his arm blocking my path as the rock giant moved away to reveal a pile of bruised and battered dwarves. Kili looked up and sent me a grin and I just let out a merry laugh.

“Help!” Cried Bilbo as he hung from the ridge his fingers slipping under the slippery rock. Thorin moved past me and swung down so he was able to lift Bilbo up but in turn his fingers slipped.
“Thorin, grab my hand.” Torien proclaimed as she reached down to him. Gratefully he did so and she pulled him up to steady ground.
“Thank you.” He muttered clapping her over the shoulder.
“My pleasure.” She smiled back. I didn’t realize I was staring at her until she glanced up at me her blue eyes sparkling in the light.

~Torien’s Flashback~

I lifted up my water skin I use when out hunting. I tipped out a small amount and it created a puddle on the floor. Sitting down on my bed I closed my eyes and concentrated on the puddle on the floor. Holding my hands out I repeated the actions I had read in the ancient books.

Opening my eyes I realized nothing had changed. I closed my eyes and tried again. Nothing. Sighing I stood up and walked to where I had a spare cloth. Moving back to the puddle I started to wipe up the water when I had an idea.

Moving back I remained kneeing. Closing my eyes, I placed my left hand in the puddle and concentrated on the way the water moved around my hand. I lifted my hand from the puddle but it remained wet. I opened my eyes to find an orb of water floating around my hand 30 centimetres above the floor.
“Torien I-“Father started as he walked into my room but stopped dead. “What are you doing?” He asked. I turned to look at him and the water splashed back into a puddle on the floor.
