Dear My Friend

Outside, the city seemed to get emptier as a storm replaced yesterday's sunny sky. The soft pattern of the rain darkened the concrete on the streets, the people headed to their shelters.

Some individuals loved this kind of weather, some weren't the happiest to have their hair soaking wet while waiting for the train. The unexpected change hit everyone differently.

Inside their houses everyone felt safe, relaxed even as they watched the race of droplets on the window.

In one apartman particularly, the rumbling of thunders was dulled out with the help of some headphones and loud music.

A boy was typing on his computer, concentrating on every single letter he pushed down. Occasionally, he would glance to the right, reading from the notes he had to check if he had made any mistakes.

He was near the finish line, flipping the pages again and again, focusing more on the music and the lyrics that perfectly described his emotions.

"To this day I still
miss and miss you"

The inspiration glowed with a new flame as he put that one song on repeat, finding comfort in the similar words displayed in his mind.

The rain continued to pour outside, but that did not take the attention away from the boy, who squinted his eyes as he found a typo.

"To this day I'm still
encircled by the memories of us together"

His eyes ran over the pages that laid in front of him, some words were faded away, some were blurred out by the tint of a liquid.

One sentence always stayed inside his thoughts, it was just so prettily written down that he just couldn't forget about it.

"Had I caught you that day"

Remembering the day he had received it, guilt boiled inside his stomach. He recalled how immature he was acting on that day, it honestly made him feel embarrassed all the time.

But what could he do?

He had learnt from his little mistake, this is what mattered.

The moment he clicked the save button that flashed on the screen, a knock cut through the instrumental of the song, earning the boy's attention to shift to the door.

He spinned around in his swivel chair and said 'come in'.

The white door opened and a head peaked in, soon shyly entering to the room.

"Hey, how are you doing?"

The now silver haired boy smiled at the newcomer, straightening his back that was hurting due to sitting for hours without any stretching.

"I finished it. Everything is perfect now." He looked back at the computer that showed his hard work.

The other put a hand on his shoulder, squeezing it reassuringly before looking at the notes. "I'm really proud of you Felix. You've overcome the hard times and now, you can finally set it free. I can't belive tomorrow we'll be going to publisher with the final product."

"No, had I stopped you that day"

"Thank you Binnie for helping me. These 2 years were extremely hard for me, especially in the beginning but you stayed with me. I'm grateful." Felix confessed for the nth time to Changbin, always trying to express how much he appreciated the older.

"Anything for you Lixie, now let's go and help me set the table, also I made your favorite." The shorter blond said before ruffling the younger's hair and getting up to leave the room.

"Okay I'll change into some fresh clothes, just a few minutes!" Felix exclaimed and turned off his computer, not forgetting to save the files a few more time, just for safety reasons.

"Mhm oh! I hope you didn't forget that Minho and Jisung well be there in like 10 minutes or so!"

"What? Fuck I totally did forget about our sunday dinner night together. Did Chan call you?" Felix slapped his forehead, not believing the fact that he forgot their regular occasion.

Changbin laughed in the distance before answering his questions. "Yeah he did, he'll be the one bringing Jeongin but they may be late because of the rain."

"Hmhm okay, I'll be out in a few!" He shouted and closed the door to change.

He quickly put clothes on and threw the dirty ones into the bathroom, deciding to deal with it later after their friends have left.

Felix stared at the notebook on his table, the precious letter that held Hyunjin's last thoughts and emotions. He turned on the computer again to take a look at the picture Changbin edited to be the book's cover. It was a tragically beautiful photo.

"To this day would we..."

He sighed before shutting it down again, also closing the book that had those powerful letters.

"...still be friends?"

The boy scanned around the room, searching for something that was actually sleeping on his bed. He heard the front door open and two loud voices, indicating that the couple has arrived.

"Hey Sunny c'mon! Your favorite humans are here."

The dog jumped up and immediately ran out of the room, not spearing a glance at Felix who just laughed as Jisung's shriek reached his ears.

Felix lifted his head up to look at the dark sky. His book of the tragic event that spread everywhere in his country- maybe even the world, was now ready to be published. He will show the 'behind the scenes' of the two lovers, who chose to say goodbye together.

Felix saw two flash of lightnings, that made him smile softly. That's when the realization hit him that finally, he had reached their goals, he really did it.

And he was sure that Hyunjin was proud of him.

"How would it be?"
