On a calm Wednesday afternoon, Hyunjin was walking around the city with the goal to find a specific elegant shop.

His father asked him to get his new suits for him. He got a promotion so he'll be managing the exhibition parts of the museum, plus he will have some business meetings too.

Hyunjin was happy for his dad, the older man deserved the raise without a doubt.

The town was full of people, something that Hyunjin didn't really like, but it was expected since the time was 7pm, people's shifts ends usually at this hour.

The air was hot, and the crowds made it harder to get some fresh oxygen. Hyunjin was sweating a little, his white shirt was sticking to his back slightly.

After more than half an hour he finally found the boutique. It was fancy, not for his taste. The two suits were neatly folded and the cashier packed it carefully. The boy paid and left, wanting to just go home.

The rush made him anxious.

People made him anxious in general.

Hyunjin decided to take another, less crowdy route to get home. As he turned right, the streets got more peaceful, the car engines couldn't reach his ears anymore.

Behind him the sun was slowly setting, the lilac sky was decorated with the hues of yellow, orange and bright red. The atmosphere was calm, Hyunjin liked it.

As he was walking on the empty street, his thought were circling around someone. It's not hard to guess who occupied it.

The bubbly, warm feeling inside his heart was growing as each day passed, creating nothing but a lovesick mindset. Nothing but rainbows and sparkles, that's what you may think, right?

It's not just that.

This is not an innocent attraction.

Deep down, inside his unconscious mind lingered a stronger emotion.

As I mentioned it's not a simple attraction.

They started off their 'friendship' with deep talks. Hyunjin's depression and anxiety showed up all the time, and the said boy was searching for reassurance.

Without noticing, he was desperately in the need of Seungmin's attention and the words of commitment. And he got it. Hyunjin received everything he needed from the other. It made him confident. He wanted more and more.

This is how they began everything.

The obsession towards each other was so obvious, but these two were too oblivious to notice how it wasn't healthy anymore. Time went by, sometimes they had smooth, light-hearted conversations.

It made both of their hearts flutter, tint of pink was hinted on their cheeks when they smiled at the screen.

That's the phase they are currently in and Hyunjin couldn't be more thankful for it. Finally he's content.

His daydream about Seungmin was interrupted when Hyunjin heard some noise not too far from him. He tilted his head and looked around. No one was near him and just a few cars were passing by.

The blond shrugged it off and continued his walk, but he heard it again, resulting him to stop in his tracks. He gazed at the other side of the road cautiously, his eyes falling on an alleyway.

Hyunjin waited for someone to emerge from the dark, maybe some drunk or homeless person, but life surprised him. Under from the big trashcan a little head peaked out.

It was a puppy.

The boy gasped when he saw the dog clearer, it looked exactly like Seungmin's puppy, Sunny. But it couldn't be his, Seungmin wouldn't let the dog out alone.

The little dog was smelling around and it's big eyes found Hyunjin, who was standing on the other side thinking about what should he do.

After a second he decided that he'll cross the road after the cars were in proper distance, so it wouldn't be dangerous. The puppy was happily yapping at the boy, tail wagging in excitement.

Hyunjin had a soft smile on his face as he waited for the perfect timing. He wanted to hug the little puppy to his chest then bring it home. He even thought about walking it together with Seungmin. The warm feeling in his stomach came back.

He blinked.

His smile instantly disappeared and his face frowned into horror. The time slowed down.

No

Hyunjin watched horrified as the puppy excitedly marched down to the road, its little paws touching the concrete lightly as it ran forward.

No

They say life is unexpected and cruel.

Is it true?

A car speeded across the road without care.

No

The happy yapping came to a halt, eerie silence took the place after a bloodcurling cry.

No

Hyunjin had to grip the streetlight next to him to avoid falling onto his knees. His eyes were wide and glossy, but no tears came out.

No

The shock he felt was indescribable, he felt his mind stop. Everything stood still till he realized what just taken place right in front of him, and time slowly ticked again.

His whole body was numb as he walked away with shaking legs. He was sick to his stomach. His brain decided to shut down as all he saw was black and red.

The image of the accident haunted his mind, repeating as it was on a loop. He saw it, he heard it.

Again. Again. Again.

Life is more than just cruel.

It's a true statement.

Hyunjin just experienced it again.

And it stabbed him without any warnings.
