Sunshine danced across the two sleeping boy's entangled bodies, stirring one of them awake with the gentle touch of warm light.

Hyunjin let his eyes adjust to the bright surroundings at first, then he looked at the peaceful boy resting in his arms. It was a pretty sight to see. He smiled and played with the other's messy hair.

He pulled the blanket up to cover their bare torsos and let himself to relax a little more. He was thinking.

What will happen after all of this?

He was literally on a run with a wanted criminal.

Seungmin said that he unfortunately left some clues after his last murder. Who knows when will the police show up at the front porch.

Should they run away?

It would be impossible.

The whole country knew about the serial killer, everyone was careful especially the border guards.

No chance of escaping.

They couldn't hide here forever.

Hyunjin felt helpless and also frustrated.

He had no intention of going to prison, or to let Seungmin rot in a cell till his life ends.

So what can they possibly do?

Anxious maze of thoughts disappeared as he felt the boy moving slowly. Tired eyes met with loving ones. Light smiles played on their lips.

"Good morning beautiful, did you sleep well?" Hyunjin asked in a honey-laced tone, his gaze held nothing but adoration and care.

Seungmin yawned and wiped the tiredness out of his eyes. "Mhm I did.." He trailed off and shut his eyes again, snuggling into the covers, the action earning a coo from Hyunjin.

"Are you hungry? As you requested I brought some food yesterday." The blond questioned, leaning further to the left to reach his bag, placing it on the bed. He fished out some snacks and protein bars.

"We have food downstairs, but I don't think I can use the stairs now.. so that granola bar will do." Seungmin answered, his cheeks flushed as he played with his fingers, dull pain overflowing his body.

Hyunjin grinned proudly and sat up, passing the food to the other, then tearing open a pack of gummybears. Seungmin shook his head in disapproval. "I don't think gummybears are breakfast worthy, Jinnie."

"Shhh I can eat them whenever I want to plus the bears don't know the time so it ain't hurting them." The older exclaimed after pouting, Seungmin just blinked and decided to let it go. Hyunjin was a weird one, but in a good way.

They ate in silence, both of their mind's occupied by the same, unspoken thoughts. They tried to dismiss it at first, but Hyunjin wanted to know everything.

"Minnie.. Can you please tell the truth about yourself? No lies anymore." Seungmin grew nervous by the last sentence.

Through his whole life, lying was a must in Seungmin's way of surviving. You can think about little, regular lies and the other half, the brutal ones. Being asked, or rather commanded to be fully honest about himself, was something he never expected to happen.

Honestly, he was scared to open his mouth to speak.

What would Hyunjin do if he knew every single thing about is life?

"Minnie please. Tell me every lie you've told me but before that, I'd like to know you better. I want you to tell me your past. Trust me, Seungmin." His words meant to be encouraging, but the effect did not reach him.

What can he do now?

Just tell everything.

Deep breath.

"Well where should I start? My childhood was normal I guess... I never really had close friends or even simple friends. I was more concerned on having good grades. Everything kinda went downhill in high school, my classmates were irritating and they did nothing. It really bothered me, I couldn't focus on the lessons because of them. They interrupted the teachers, sabotaged the classes and kind of bullied me for studying. A normal student with dreams should pay attention and learn right? So why would they be assholes all the time? Their behavior was just so... childish it disgusted me so much. I hated those kind of people with passion, I still do. Like, you were born so you have to do something to prove that you're worthy for living. Wasting your time means no benefits. Maybe that's why I started this revenge-and-cleaning killing. Humanity doesn't need worthless individuals, this is my mindset. I talked with my victims, asked about their plans and when they told me nothing, I knew they weren't wanted." The way he spilled those harsh emotions made Hyunjin feel something.

Regret. Shame.

He felt like those words were meant for him, hell he knew they were.

Hyunjin understood his motives, but it terrified him till no end.

Seungmin glanced at the older, wanting to see some kind of reaction and he got it.

That frozen and guilty expression.

It was more than enough for him.

"So now let me tell you about myself, in full honesty. My name is Kim Seungmin, not Lee, my age is correct and I do live alone, everything I told about my family is true. I don't go to college, but I hav– I mean had a part-time job as nurse assistant in a hospital. I know how to hack computers so I've found many information about you. Also I don't know if you remember, but we met earlier, before we started talking. At the park at night. Plus I saw you burning that pack of cigarettes. I sound like a stalker haha... I am in some way. Do you have any questions?" The younger finished, fearfully turning his head to look at Hyunjin.

He seemed to be deep in thought, trying to process everything he had heard in these minutes. Must have been hard for him.

Seungmin felt his anxiety eating him alive as Hyunjin was still quiet. At least he has told everything, there won't be any problems in the future, right?

"Felix was right all along..."

Those barely audible words has left Hyunjin's lips.

Seungmin froze.

Felix.

Even though Seungmin was a damned serial killer, he wasn't that heartless. He knew many things about Felix, –thanks to Hyunjin and his hacking skills– and honestly, he felt sympathy for him.

Felix was an ambitious and charming guy. He had an outgoing personality, he always tried to help others or be there for them, especially Hyunjin.

Felix was called sunshine by his classmates and friends.

When Seungmin heard how Hyunjin was thinking about the just-a-week-older boy, he felt extremely disappointed to say at least.

How can someone see his best friend as a pathetic idiot?

Seungmin couldn't even imagine.

How would he understand though?

He'd never had any real friends to begin with.

The thought saddened him every single day of his life, but he had to deal with it no matter what.

Maybe he was the loser this whole time.

Thinking, that being seen as an emotionless and successful teenager would put him above others. He saw life as a competition, looking down at people and reflecting himself with his overgrown ego.

Fake overconfidence can build you the most dazzling castle, but it's never stable enough to stay in place, it will –eventually collapse into broken pieces of self-failure that you'll blame it on yourself.

It can destroy the whole image of 'me'.

That's why you should always listen to your honest feelings, to find your way and finish the hard puzzle of the so-called true self.
