Chapter 37

Elizabeth POV.

While hunter was in the emergency room another nurse came to me and asked me what happened and other questions.

Minutes later the said his blood sugar was down and that he had a mild allergic reaction.

I was confused because I wasn't aware he was allergic to anything.

They said they'd keep him overnight to monitor him.

I felt relieved and even felt comfort in Williams arms. Eventually they let me see him.

He was asleep, his rashes were still visible.

"oh baby"

I said with tears rolling down. Laying on his small chest.

"you okay now baby, just rest up"

I said and kissed him.

"your mother is on the phone"

William said when he walked into the room. I wiped my tears away and answered.

I told her what the doctors told me and she said she didn't give him anything I didn't, but what caught my attention was that he was  playing on the grass. He never played on Grass before. That could be it.

Mama said she would come tomorrow. Just when I ended the call the door opened and in came rose

"I just heard and came as soon as possible"

She said hugging me.

"I was so scared rose"

"I know baby"

She said rubbing my back as the tears fell. When I collected myself I saw Henry and

"Lewis?"

While looking from him to rose.

"they were together when your mother called"

"what the doctor say?"

"now you care about him, did it take him to lay in a hospital for you to visit him"

I said frustrated and angry

"just leave Lewis"

I said.

"Beth..."

"no rose, everyone just get out"

I heard soft okays and seconds later they all left including William.

I then got in next to hunter and told him a story shortly thereafter my eyes got heavy and darkness took over.

The next morning I woke up, hunter still didn't wake up. But his rashes were slowly going away and his fever was down. Just then I saw Lewis sitting on the couch sleeping. At that moment I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

Just then the door opened and in came William with coffee.

"thought you might need this"

He said handing me my coffee.

"thanks"

I said and took small sips

"he looks better"

"yeah, I'm glad he is"

I nod

I then pulled William closer to the door.

"thank you so much for last night and the coffee"

I said with a genuine smile

"no, it wasn't at all a problem, I had fun talking snf dancing with you"
