Not What He Seems

SQUEEEEEE!

Ok so this is what I came up with while lying in bed today and doing nothing with my life other than watching a Gravity Falls marathon :

It's unnatural for siblings to get along as well as you do.

I didn't think about this at first, but Grunkle Stan could be hinting that his own relationship with his sibling(s) may not be that great.

We've still got plenty of summer left to drive each other crazy!

The same thing was done in Gideon Rises. The writers wanted to make sure we knew that, even though this was a half-season finale and the show was going on hiatus, the summer isn't over just yet. Now, I've come across information saying that this episode was originally meant to be the season 2 finale, and the rest of the season was going to be season 3. However, since the internet figured out who the author was well in advance, and Disney told them they'd be going on hiatus in the middle of the season, they decided to reveal the author early. A third season is still possible, but not green lighted yet.

Can it, Poindexter!

A "poindexter" is someone who looks and acts like a nerd, but is not smart enough to be one. So what Grunkle Stan is saying is that the author doesn't know what he's talking about. This could explain why the apocalypse predicted by the author did not happen.

Drive as far away from the shack as possible, and don't stop when the cops start chasin' you!

Wow Stan. That is a brilliant plan. I've got to try that the next time I get arrested.

It's just like that bunker in the woods.

Once again, Alex has been watching the fanbase. We theorized that the bunker was connected to Stan's lab.

All this time Stan had them?!?

Here's the thing. Dipper didn't know that Gideon originally had book #2. It doesn't take much away from this moment, though. Alex has said in an interview that Gravity Falls is mainly a show about characters, and the addition of Stanley could very well throw the Pines family off kilter. Stan and Dipper will also have to rebuild their trust in each other. Alex said that the next few episodes will explore Dipper's anger with himself for letting himself trust a con man like Stan.

Black light message

The machine was meant to create knowledge but it is too powerful! The device, if fully operational could tear our universe apart! I was wrong the whole time! It must not fall into the wrong hands. If the clock ever reaches zero our universe is doomed! Total global destruction!

But... whose clock?

It's the final countdown! Just like they always sung about!

Nicely done, writers. Nicely done.

Glass breaks in the picture

There's a theory, relating to the one above, that states that this symbolizes some future tension between Dipper and Mabel. I'm not buying it.

The author of the journals. ... My brother.

This episode was supposed to be the season 2 finale. The rest of the season was originally meant to be part of season 3. But since the internet figured out that Stanley was the author during the hiatus between seasons, and Disney decided to give the show a hiatus mid-season, the writers decided to condense the two into one season. A third season is still a possibility, but no absolute word has come out yet.

Stan evidence board

Once again, this looks like something a fan compiled. Everything we know about Grunkle Stan's illegal acts is right here. A few things of note:

The mystery shack picture. It looks like the word "radioactive" or "radioactivity" is written underneath it. Also, the shack's address on the deed is circled and pointing to a note that we can't read.

A few locks of hair. Written above them is a word that ends in -kely. My guess is "likely." It's pointing to the math and english grades on the report card, both A+'s. While I'm at it, the card also shows an A+ in science and a D- in P.E. This could be why Stan's father signed him up for boxing lessons. There's also a picture in the general vicinity with a stamped word ending in -ke, most likely "fake."

A few fingerprints with a sign that says "No match found" and a picture of New Jersey. We are almost positive that Stan's hometown (later revealed to be Glass Shard Beach) is in New Jersey. As for the fingerprints, I can only guess that they belong to Stanley.

A pie graph with a note that says "Lies!"

A picture of a StanVac.

A newspaper article about the stolen radioactive barrels, with a picture of the footprints found there.

A 50 Stan Bucks bill.

A poster saying "seismic activity."

Case #205 (a reference to the episode number), an article about Stan attempting to steal Will E. Badger.

A picture of the Stanleymobile (with the key on the front bumper, indicating that the keyword is STNLYMBL.) Oddly enough, this picture is later replaced with a shot of Will E. Badger, as the words "attempted to steal" are pointing at both pictures.

Mr. Pines? Is this some sort of... possession situation?

Although this may seem like Soos just being dumb, it's far from it. Soos lives in Gravity Falls and he knows it. As he says, he is "always noticing weird stuff in this town." So he was actually showing his secret smarts.

You know that vending machine in the gift shop? I need you to guard it with your life!

Well, first of all, this episode pretty much puts to rest the theory that Soos knew about the portal. But don't give up! The walkie-talkie Soos was using said 23. I don't have any idea what that means, but I am 61.8% sure that it's important.

Manly Dan is a fan of Sev'ral Timez

This moment is twice as funny once you realize: his daughter, his only daughter, is a hater of Sev'ral Timez.

Government vehicles' license plates

They all say JXYDPHQW, which is the Caesar cipher for GUVAMENT.

So is it a rock or is it a face?

Two instances of expert continuity right here. One for the rock that looks like a face rock, and the other for the... GRAPPLING HOOK!!!!! Also, how the heck are they able to sneak around the house without being noticed by the government guys?

Stan's bookshelf

It has books such as The Nuances of Fraud, The Business of Business, Scams A-Z, How to Ruin Jokes by Steven and Pete, Glass Shard Beach High Yearbook, and Daddy Issues. Steven Pete is a man who suffers from a rare disorder that makes him physically unable to experience pain.

Wait. I'm alone. I can swear for real! SON OF A... Bètch. There. I somewhat said it. Sue me.

Oh my gosh, Alex, babe, did you really sneak that in there? How...?

Stan's fake IDs

This may be obvious, but I'll say it anyway. Those IDs could belong to Stanley. My guess is that some belong to Stanley and others to Stanford.

Stan Pines Dead

Foul play suspected in Pines' death

The flaming wreckage of a wrecked car was found in a ditch 4 miles from Highway 618 at 6 a.m. Monday morning. The cut brakes and odd location of the car suggest that this was no accident. Says a rookie cop, "Mighty suspicious. Mighty suspicious."

Cryptograms

The first says "The original mystery twins" in the Vigenere cipher. It most likely refers to Stanford and his brother. Again, the keyword is "STNLYMBL."

The second says "Thirty years and now he's back. The mystery in the mystery shack." Obviously, it probably refers to Stan's brother. It's in the combined cipher, which, as always, is A1Z26, to atbash, to Caesar set three letters back.

Don't fret Alex Hirschey Bar said himself Disney is allowing the next episode to be released 'This Summer' But, recently he has said in July.
Wuteves Disney. Wuteves.
