We Plumment to Hell

A startled cry urged them faster along. At this point, it was raining and a cold front seemed to follow behind. Every once in a while the wind would be so strong, one of the demigods would fall over. This time it was Nico.

"EEK, are you ok?!" Will screamed.

Nico patted himself down. "Fine, I'm fine."

The three half-bloods helped Nico up to his feet. Will messed with Nico's hair, wiped his face of dirt, and straightened his clothes. Nico pushed him away.

"I swear on the River of Styx, I AM OKAY!" Nico grumbled, irritated. Will seemed a bit hurt, but Nico tried not to feel bad. Nico sighed, "Hurry, we have no time to fuss."

All four demigods nodded and continued. They jogged along, close to their camping base.

"Just behind these trees!" Emma yelled over the wind. A branch overhead snapped in half and came hurtling down on her. She froze.

"Look out!" Connor yelled.

He didn't need to say that, it was unnecessary. Emma dropped to the ground, dirt flying, and rolled to the left. The boys fell back, stumbling over each other to get away from the large branch. No matter what they could have done, they could not help getting caked in mud as the branch splattered it everywhere.

Unfortunately, the branch had fallen on Emma's ankle. She hadn't been quick enough. If I hadn't frozen back there...., Emma thought. She tried moving her foot, which was a big mistake. Pain coursed through her whole leg. Emma cried in pain, trying to hold it back.

"Emma!" Connor yelped. Despite his own pain, he limped over to her. He tried prying off the oak, but made no progress. "C'mon, guys!! Please, help me!"

Will and Nico glanced at each other. Will smirked and came running over to the rescue. Nico followed in example. Together, Connor, Nico, and Will threw off the branch. Will immediately went to work, bandaging up Emma's ankle. Connor held her hand as he feed her ambrosia, helping the pain as Will did his doctor magic.

"Guys, I haven't heard a thing since we turned around." Nico grimaced. "Do you think-"

"No!" Connor said. "I didn't come all this way for those girls to die and to lose track of my girlfriend!"

Emma frowned. He loved Cammy dearly, he spoke with such emotion. She wanted someone like him. She wanted him.

No, you are just tired, Emma thought. Besides, what kind of friend would you be if you took away your friend's boyfriend? You'd be nothing to her.

She shook out of her thoughts as Connor gently hauled her up, bridal style, avoiding contact with her injury.

"You said just a little further right?" Connor asked.

Emma nodded. "Yup, upward to those dead looking Oaks over there." She pointed, three pairs of eyes on her. "As you can see."

Black smoke whisked around, swirling above the tree tops to prove her point. They all sighed in relief. Nico and Will ran full speed. Emma clung tight onto Connor as he jogged towards their base.

Much happened at once: Cammy held a celestial bronze knife to Sydney's neck. Tyler tried calming the situation with equations. Lily was sprawled on the grass, knocked out. Nico face planted into the dirt. Will stood there stunned, looking at his sister with tears in his eyes. Connor accidentally dropped Emma in shock at the sight of his missing girlfriend. Emma clutched her ankle, cursing under her breath and at the son of Hermes.

Cammy's heart sunk as she saw Connor. Connor's heart skipped a beat as he saw Cammy's face again. The couple looked at each other in shock. Emma looked at Connor, heartbroken. Tyler looked quizzically at Connor.

Connor ran towards Cammy, smiling crazy. Cammy dropped the knife, letting it clatter to the dirt. Sydney grabbed at the air, trying to remember how to breathe.

Cammy frowned and stuttered, "Connor, I-I-"

Conner's lips clashed with Cammy's. He held her tightly. After a while, he backed away, realizing he was making a scene. Cammy blushed, her legs trembling.

"How did you- where were- what happened?!" He demanded, holding her hands.

She shook her head and smiled weakly. "Long story."

"Yeah, very." Tyler mumbled bitterly.

"Who are you?" Connor asked, a little rude.

Tyler trembled with anger. He counted in his head to fourteen and sighed. "Your girlfriend's savior."

Connor blinked. "Excuse me?"

"It's true!!" Cammy gushed. She slipped her arm through Tyler's, then Connor's. "Tyler, Connor. Connor, Tyler, though I call him Einstein."

The boys looked at each other in hatred. The others, besides Lily, backed up, ready for a fight to break out. Of Course, they were right.

"He saved you?" Connor mused. "How?!"

"Want me to show you? I will gladly-" Tyler mumbled.

"Who is your godly parent anyways?!"

"D-D-"

"The wine dude?! Dionysus?! Pft, oh wow!! What did you do? Get my girlfriend's abductor drunk on grape juice?"

Thunder rumbled overhead.

"How dare you! He is a god and has as much respect as Lord Zeus!!"

"Pollux and you will get along great!"

"I am no child of Dionysus! My mother is D-Demeter!"

"Demeter's kids brings nothing but sorrow for me! So why don't you just-"

Cammy's eyes flashed with rage as she slapped Connor. "How dare you, Connor! Insulting my friends like that! Not everything is about you!"

Lily slowly awoke at the sound. (A/N: Ouch, Cammy! Must've hit him hard! ;-;)

Conner looked down, rubbing his cheek. Anger boiled inside him. "So that's it? I came on this journey for you, risked my life for you-"

"And only to think for yourself. Yes, you did....Connor Stoll." Cammy quietly said.

Silence. All you could hear were the faint chirping of the birds, waking for sunrise. The insects buzzed, crickets sang, and the faint flicker of the bonfire.

"That's enough for one night," Nico said, marching in between the two demigods. "Besides, my father is awaiting for us."

The demigods quietly gasped.

"Whoa, what do you mean?" Sydney croaked.

"Who is your father?" Lily squeaked

"Nico....," Will mumbled.

Tears formed in the son of Hades eyes. "I'm deeply sorry. Please forgive me." He turned towards Cammy. "I must bring you, at least."

"Never!" Tyler yelled. He jumped in front of her protectively.

Nico unsheathed his sword and stuck it deep in the earth's crust. In a split second, Nico had created a way to his home territory. A crack (shut up) ran around Nico, Will, Cammy, and Tyler. All four demigods cried in alarm as the ground beneath them had disappeared.

Tyler grabbed Cammy around her waist. Will and Nico blushed as they held each other, though Will was still cross with Nico. Together, they screamed in fear for what awaited them, the god of Hell himself: Lord Hades.

Lily and Sydney screamed in terror at the sight of the half-bloods falling out of help's reach. Connor and Emma struggled to pull the young girls away from the scene. They were useless. All they could do was stand back in horror at the sight of their fellow friends plummet to the land of the dead, the Underworld.
