I slowly opened the door, frowning. Gods, this place is a little crowded.
Golden armor was piled in the corners of the room. Objects littered the floor: expensive looking jewelry, products from the camp gift store, crumpled soda cans, and packages that looked suspiciously of fire crackers.
"Moron." I called.
"Princess." I walked to his voice. "We play the weirdest game of Marco Polo," Connor said through his pillow, which was on his face.
"Well, it's the first thing I called you when we met."
"It's not as nice as 'princess' though."
"Moron."
I sat on his bed. "Looks like we made up," I said hopefully. He didn't answer. "Oh stop being a baby! I only looked at that guy for a moment!"
He moaned. "Gods, fine, whatever. I'm still mad at you though! You already have someone!"
He hugged me and continued to whine. "Big Baby," I muttered. "How did I fall for you."
"Dunno," he grinned.
He leaned in for a kiss, but I shoved a pillow in his face and started towards the door. "As I said before, you're a moron!" I slammed the door and started towards the dinning pavilion, leaving my emotional boyfriend whining.
**********
Suddenly I fell down, pressure on my back. "GAH!" I yelled for the second time today.
"Sorry, Cammy!" A voice sobbed. Jessica. "Oh Cam! I visited you as soon as you were brought to the pharmacy! You worried me so much! Nico came, too! I think he likes you-"
"Nah, probably to abuse me again," I joked.
Jessica didn't seem to get my sick humor, her eyebrows narrowed. She jumped off me, "WHAT?! ABUSE YOU?! I am going to kill him, then you for not telling me!"
I sighed and sat up. "Jess, it was just a private joke." I turned to face her, but she was nowhere in sight. "Schist." Then I saw a shadow in the woods. Me being stupid at the moment, followed.
**********
My instincts told me to turn around and walk away. No. What if it's Jessica? She can't defend herself out here. I never even got to tell her about what has been happening to me lately.
I was on the figure's tail, running now to keep up. Then it disappeared. Great, I'm too late. I'll never find her now!
I stomped my foot in frustration as I cursed under my breath. After I calmed, I spun around and began to walk away, until someone clasped my hand and pulled me into the darkness.
***********
"Shut up and don't make a sound!" someone hissed. They had their hand over my mouth and held me against them behind a tree.
They uncovered my mouth, but still pinned me. I couldn't see their face, but I had a pretty good guess who it was. "N-Nico, what are you doing! Let go of me, I need to find-"
Nico grabbed hold of my arms and threw me, causing me to slam against an Oak, and a very angry tree nymph. She started cursing, but suddenly yelped and disappeared in green mist, which freaked me out after Rachel.
I popped back into reality. "N-Nico! What the Hades!" I weakly said. "S-stop fricken abusing me!"
I grabbed my phone and turned on the flashlight and gasped. I could faintly see him, but all I needed to know was that the person looming over me was not Nico Di Angelo. The thing stood 15 feet tall, crooked teeth, stringy black hair, and one gigantic red eye.
I screamed in terror as he bellowed in laughter. He grabbed me around my waist and held me up to his hideous face. I continued to yell for help, dangling from the beast's grip.
"Yes, Camila Nixon, scream in fear!" the Cyclops growled. "I shall feed off it! Or better yet, I will feed on your FLESH!"
With one last desperate cry for help, I was held above the Cyclops's head and thrown down to the surface of the earth, instantly seeing stars.
