Friend Reunion to the Death

Cammy's P.o.V.

As we still continued to free fall, I tried to come up with a strategy on how to get us out of this situation. Below us was nothing but green hills with patches of strawberry fields in the distance. Pine trees were everywhere to be seen, as for the scent as well. But one Pine caught my attention. It was more...how would you say it? Fuller. It practically glowed with health. This looked like a picture perfect, if not for the fact that Nico and I were about to fall to our death.

"Looks like this is the end of the line for us," I sighed, which I could hardly hear over the sound of my ears popping. We didn't have enough time. In a matter of minutes we would die with the impact of our landing, even in the water.

I prepared myself for the impact, the death. I mentally started writing my will. Once again I bumped into something. And it wasn't Nico this time. Mrs. O'Leary.

"OH WOW!" I screamed. "GUESS YOU AND NICO NEED TO WORK ON SHADOW TRAVELING, HUH?!!" She barked in response. Then I noticed Mrs. O'Leary covering something. Levi unconscious. "GREAT! LOOKY HERE! A FRIEND REUNION TO THE DEATH!" I had to scream my head off for me to even hear myself.

All of a sudden, I got the wind knocked right out of me. I gasped, trying to breath. We had landed, but....how am I still alive? I looked up and saw a bird, but...then again it wasn't quite a bird. All I knew was that it was huge. I groggily got up and stretched. I started patting myself, just making sure I wasn't dead. Then I turned to Levi, who was still in Mrs.O'Leary's arms (if you call them that...).

I didn't bother checking if they were alive, they breathe pretty heavily. But I turned to Nico....if possible, he looked even paler. I frantically started shaking him. "Nico! Can you hear me? Are you alright!?" Of course he's not alright! He is faintly breathing and looks like a fricken ghost right now!

I slowly started getting up, but as if on cue, Mrs.O'Leary decided to do the same. Only she failed. She slammed down hard, causing me to fall on my rear. I was too tired to be alarmed. That's when I knew I should have payed attention.

I finally realized we were on a hill, a very steep one. "God, don't tell me we are on 'Half-Blood Hill', because if we are-" I never got to finish my sentence before I started tumbling down. Every inch of my body on fire.

I might have been a little too loud on the way down because when I arrived at the bottom of the hill, dozens of teenagers were waiting. All in which were pointing either javelins, swords, or notched bows right at me. I instinctively put my hands up in defence. "Wait!" I said like an idiot.

They looked above me, gasping. The archers put down their bows. The other teens did the same with their weapons. I finally took notice and looked up. "GAAAAAHHHHH!! Oh My Gods!" I put my hands on my head, closing my eyes from the hideous creature.

A huge rat, maybe a mouse, was dangling above my head. It glittered in golden light, the outer layers orange, then red. Once again, on cue, Nico, Mrs. O'Leary, and Levi came tumbling down. They landed beside me. At least Mrs. O'Leary and the guys were finally conscious. Unfortunately Nico just made a mumbling sound and fell right back on the grass. A girl with long curly brown hair, coffee colored skin, and golden eyes came running up to Nico. She rested her head on his. A buff, Asian dude with black, buzz cut, hair stood behind her. I didn't want to mess with him.

But what caught me off balance was the horse man. A centaur? But those were just a myth!

"I am no myth, my young half-blood," he said. My thoughts became jumbled. He read my mind or was it my expression!?

My response was more or less like, "B-B-ButIStillCan'tProccessAllThis,IAmJustTired,KillMe, uh ok." I slumped down.

Then suddenly all the other campers kneeled down. I looked up. The centaur bowed his head. "She has been determined," he started. "All hail Cammy Nixon, daughter of Apollo, god of the sun, prophecy, music, and healing!"
