❖ Chapter 5 - The Deal ❖

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

Y/n was knocking on the door to Jake's room. it was time for Jake's new parents to go pick him up. Everyone was so excited for Jake, yet, he didn't seem that excited at all.

Emma said that he is probably sad that he has to leave. But, for some reason, Y/n didn't really believe that was the reason, or even if it was, she believed it wasn't the only reason. we didn't even get to play our last game of tag because he was locked up in his room.

"Hey, Jake I'm coming in!" you said, standing outside of the room door.
She but paused, waiting for a response...

Silence.

After a few seconds, you opened the door. 

Jake was sitting on the edge of his bed his head in his hand he looked terrified.
"J-Jake?" Y/n said worriedly he looked up. His face was covered with all sorts of emotions, fear, sadness, despair, you name it.
"hey Y/n..." he said with a weak smile, his eyes failed to meet yours 

 "Does mom need me?" he asked,
"Yeah your new parents are here!" you said with a smile, trying to gain a reaction from him. You were hoping for even a hint of excitement or happiness.
Your search turned up unsuccessful.

You could sense something was up, why is he not excited to meet his new parents? 

He looked up at the roof, and although the roof was plain, it seemed as if he was watching the sky and the clouds. His eyes seemed almost glossy and with the way he was acting, he seemed distant from this world.

"Sure. Just one second can you come sit down with me? I need to tell you something." Jake said, there was a certain heaviness that was carried with his voice.
"Sure!" you said as you walked happily towards him.

Still looking at the roof he spoke, 

"Go to  the human world, and live for me, okay?" He said
Confused, you spoke without thinking.
"Sure...?"

Then, without another word, he got up, grabbed his suitcase and left the room. 
What? What does he mean? human world? what the heck is he talking about!? 

"Wait! JAKE WAIT UP!!!" I got up and ran out the door trying to catch up to Jake
"What did you mean?!" You yelled down the hallway, but he wasn't there.

"Y/N GET DOWN HERE YOUR GOING TO MISS THE FAREWELL" Emma yelled from downstairs, "COMING!" you yelled then ran down the stairs

Jake was standing at the door with Mom behind him holding his shoulder.

"Jake what-" You tried to speak, but you were interrupted,
"WAAAA J-JAKE I DON'T WANT YOU TO LEAVE!!!"

What did he mean by "go to the human world"...

One of the younger children burst out in tears, then some of the other children joined in it was a whole mix of "WAAAAA" and "W-WE D-D-DONT W-WANT YOU TO LEAVE"
But Jake only stood there and smiled. Not making an effort to comfort them as he usually would. 

There was something going on with him today... But you couldn't place your finger on it, and by now, it was too late to ask again.

Then, Mom opened the door and led Jake out into the dark night
"Goodbye Y/n" Was the last thing he said before the door closed and we stood there in silence.

what did Jake mean by "go to the human world" you wondered while you walked back up the stairs and to the room that was once his. Y/n opened the door and walked inside, the room was normal, everything was as it usually was.

You glanced at his bed...

"EKK!" Y/n yelled. 

Ray, who was walking by heard y/n and burst through the door
"WHAT!?" Ray yelled with a worried expression on his face,
"JAKE LEFT THE FLOWER CROWN I MADE FOR HIM!!!" y/n yelled
