"LIAR, LIAR, PANTS ON FIREEE!!!"
HE SAID HE WOULD BE HERE!! HE TOLD US TO COME TO VISIT!!" Alicia and many other of the children wined
and with that, they all continued to throw each other around and yell
"Uhhh..." You said as you reached a hand out to stop them but then decided not to as the children looked very angry
"Heh..."
"You feel better now?" Ray asked with his arms crossed as he faced the children who were huffing and puffing, it seems they were even more tired...
"Yeah!" The children yelled who yet still, had angry looks on their faces
"Then calm down and listen. If Minerva is the one going back and forth between the worlds... Then he won't always be on the demon's side. And even if the demons usually avoid these deserted areas... Imagine if humans just stood around like sitting ducks, or if they left obvious signs... they wouldn't last long, right?" Ray asked and we all nodded
"Emma. the pen" Ray asked as he turned around to face Emma who handed Ray the pen, You stood next to him.
"Yesterday, I found out about the next part. The contents of the pen go on after what we had seen." Ray explained
"And what did the next part show?" Gilda asked
"Nothing at all. To be more precise, Nothing I could see." Ray said with the same chill look on his face as always
"What do you mean?" You asked trying to figure out what he meant,
"I couldn't access the rest of the data. I'm sure I put in the right answer, but even then..." Ray said and opened the pen to show the hologram, it had the owl crest at the top and under that, it read in big letters ERROR,
"I'm sure I put in the right answer, but even then... no matter how many times I tried, I could only see as far as Minerva's message from before. Ever since way then, when Norman didn't leave Emma clear instructions to memorize it all... I've been wondering whether that extra information was something we'd only need once out in the field. But that wasn't it. I got it wrong. Norman, too, couldn't access the data in that house." Ray explained, In the house...? Oh... I see. And you let a smirk slip past your mask, as perceptive as ever I see Ray.
"I think that's because... The pen will only show the next part once you bring it to a certain location." Ray said
"You mean..." Emma said with a smile, understanding what Ray meant as well
"Exactly here in B06-32," Ray said with a smile
"Let's give it a try," Thoma said with a smile and Ray handed you the book
"First..." Ray asked
"Touch me!" The children yelled and the screen changed to the one where we type in the passwords.
"Page 45, line 3, 3rd word!" Alicia and Dominic yelled apparently cleared of all anger
And with that you found the code word and Ray typed it in, and so on, so on until we reached the part which had shown error before. It now showed the same as any other, the page number, the line, and the word number.
"Page 108, line 15, word 2" Alicia and Dominic yelled again with a few others
"History" You read out loud and Ray typed it in,
"Come on!!!" The children yelled in asperation,
And, the screen changed, a map.
"It worked!" They yelled, the children sure do have a lot of energy...
"But... what's this..." Alicia asked as she stared at the map
"It's a map..." You said
"There's an underground entrance!" Y/n yelled
"It's around that area! Go look for it!" You ordered as you shifted your arm in the direction that the map had shown the entrance. Then everyone ran to find the entrance.
VRRRRRR
"Ray! Y/n! Look! somethings happening!" Emma yelled from ahead of you and you looked in the direction of where the sound had come from. and you all ran towards it.
Lying there was a safe-like thing, small dirt piles laid around it, it seemed that the dirt had covered that, This must be it
"Here it is..." Emma said her eyes on the entrance
And Ray moved to open it,
"It was really here after all..." Alicia said with a smile
"He wasn't lying!" Chris said, Their attitude seemed to have changed around Minerva now...
"Let's go!" Emma said with a smile, We're going to go see Mr. Minerva!
You helped the children climb down the entrance before getting down yourself, Emma lit the tunnel with a lamp we had gotten from Mujika and Sonju, the walls were made of brick. You walked further down the hall and you reached a door.
"Finally! Just a bit more..." Lannion said in anticipation
"Yes"
And we walked through it. the walls past there were lit with lamps and the walls were lined with doors, all numbered.
"Emma!" Alicia asked in front of you, tugging on Emma's sleeve
"I heard somebody behind that door!" She said in a scared voice as she pointed at the door and indeed there was noise coming from inside the room. The sounds of shifting...
Emma knocked on the door and we walked through it, sitting on a stool was an adult man with his boots on the table.
Huh!? A human being. Is he, William Minerva?
"You've come a long way. Congrats... And welcome to shelter B06-32" He said with a smirk, a broken teacup in hand.
He stuffed a cookie in his mouth throwing crumbs everywhere, What terrible manners... His teacup is clearly broken with nothing in it and yet... He's taking a sip from it!? What a weird guy... how disappointing... This isn't what we expected.
"Are you Minerva?" Emma asked and we all stood in silence waiting for the strange man's response,
"Nope." He simply
"Too bad for you kids. I'm not William Minerva." The mad man said as he chewed his cookies
"Then please call him. We came all the way here in order to meet Minerva" Ray said stepping forward
"He ain't here chum!" The ill-mannered man said as he yet still showed us how much he didn't care about his appearance to everyone.
"What a shame, huh? No Minerva's around here, at all." The man apologized in a non-apologetic voice, How utterly annoying.
"Clearly you know of Minerva, too. We need more information. Where is he right now?" You asked trying not to be forceful
"No idea!" He said and started laughing like the mad man he is
"Who are you? What are you doing here?" you asked attempting to push down the anger and annoyance you felt
"Who am I?!" He said recovering from his annoying laughing fit
"I'm your senior," He said and pulled out a checkered pen
