Y/n's POV
We stood in the cave-like place only lighted by some sort of lamps, one of which Ray was clutching in his hand, the other lamp was held in a demon's hand
"Excuse me..." Emma started in a worried voice
"You're better!" The demon said in a sweet voice she had run up towards you and Emma and grabbed our hands
"I'm so glad you've recovered how do you both feel!" She said she had a mask-like thing much like all the other demons but it didn't cover her whole face, just her eyes. She wore a smile on her face and her voice was sweet and kind as if she really cared.
"Er, Yes, Fine, Thank you!" Emma responded trying to match the demons friendly tone
"Uh-" You looked at Emma who nodded, I guess I'm going to have to trust her from now on, "I'm doing good! my leg still hurts a bit but I'll be fine" You said with a smile, if you said that your leg didn't hurt at all you'd be lying.
"The bleeding stopped, and it seems like the fever let down too..." The friendly demon said examining Emma then she looked down at your bandaged leg
"The healing herbs worked fine then! However, you two are forbidden from hard work. if you get sick again it'll get dangerous!" The demon said, her sleeves completely cover her hand but her hand was warm
"You all did a great job... Escaping from that farm. It's all right now. you're safe here with us." She said
"Please relax and rest here for the night. Ok?" The girl demon said
"Sorry, but... where are our friends? The ones who were with me..." Emma asked "Right over here. We've just finished setting up dinner. Come, let's go!" The demon said and started heading the way that she walked from, she lead the way her lamp lighting the way. Doesn't seem like they have hidden intentions... they're on our side, after all? giving us shelter? If so... still, I don't get it... "Excuse me, but what about the hooded man who saved me? Is he your companion?" You asked while you followed the kind demon,
"You mean Sonju?" She asked slightly turning to face us but then turning her head back to the front,
"Yes, he's over here too"
"Sonju... So that wasn't Minerva..." Emma said
"Minerva?" She asked
"William Minerva. perhaps you've heard of him?" Emma asked and the demon nodded "No" in response
Not Minerva nor is allies then. There's so much I want to ask... about the world. about the demons. about the rest of humankind.
"Hey listen..." Ray started saying but suddenly stopped only to start talking again, "Thank you. Really, thanks for helping us. You got us out of a real pinch, I'd say. I Have to say I'm truly grateful." Ray said, by now, we had already stopped walking. "Say... Why are you demons protecting your livestock?" Ray asked, You had been wondering that as well but... it seemed like Ray had just noticed, you had noticed right when you saw her, her feet were a dead giveaway.
"Wh-" By the looks of it Emma had just noticed as well
"Both of you are demons, right. you and that man. What do you mean to do?" Ray asked and sounds started coming from behind, the sounds of footsteps
"Could you go ahead and explain it to us then... dear demon?" Ray said grabbing your hand, you could sense that there was someone or something thing standing behind you. Ray's hand was warm and soft, you gripped tightly to it. You thought that both Ray and Emma knew they were demons already... and they had trusted them despite that- now that you thought about it... it was stupid to not say anything- you laughed at your stupidity, Why would they trust a demon after they had tried to eat us. what if they're going to eat us??? Why did I keep my mouth shut? You cursed yourself again
"I'm so stupid..." You mumbled under your breath
"Those are demon feet, right," Ray said with a smug look on his face. you decided you keep your mouth shut about already knowing she was a demon, you didn't want to share your stupidity.
Emma started shaking and you grabbed her hand,
"Well? Why did you go to all this trouble for mere cattle like us?" Ray asked and the thing behind you shifted, you looked behind yourself, Ray doing to same. A guy... No, a demon stood there, one that you vaguely remembered... that must be Sonju, the one that saved you.
"Hey, Mujika, you've gone too far. You always take the wrong approach." Sonju said, he was tall and he was holding a sharp weapon on his shoulders, you couldn't see his eyes and he wore a hood just like the other demon.
"That's why you came, to help? But your timing is pretty bad, you know!" Mujika said she was the same size as us so Sonju was tall for her as well.
Emma stood there frightened and so did Ray, you were terrified but you didn't let it show, One of us has to be strong.
"What's the matter with them? They look awful..." Sonju said and kneeled down to look at us, the weapon still in his hand, he stood up.
"Why... did you help..." Ray asked he was shaking. You took a deep breath in and held it only to let it out a few seconds later.
"They're like that because you're hovering over them with that thing, Sonju. The poor things are terrified!" Mujika said in a pouty voice
"Nonsense. What about there? Though, sure, I do recommend taking care not to touch it!" Sunju said
What...?
"Why... Are... You demons... Hel-" Ray started saying trying to form a sentence but Emma spoke up,
"WHERE ARE THE CHILDREN?!" Emma said, she was angry, she faced down, her hair covering her eyes, She was terrifying. you let out a sigh, you truly believed that these demons meant no harm... But how could you be so sure... Then Emma suddenly took off, She ran past the taller demon who didn't try to stop her at all
"Hey! Emma!!" Ray yelled
"He heh heh... My bad, kid. About your question then... Why would we demons dave you, eh..." Sonju said finally addressing Ray,
"Demons... How nostalgic... Yes, we used to be called that..." Sonju said and we soon heard the sounds of children scream 'Emma!' and you let out a sigh of relief, They must be ok
"Your friends must be waiting for the two of you," Sunju said and started walking the way that Emma had run off to.
You nodded at Ray who nodded back and you both cautiously followed, Mujika walking behind. After a little bit of walking, you reached a cozy-looking cave, a fire was lit, a pot over top it and the children looked unharmed and happy and as soon as the children saw you, you were greeted by smiles and hugs, once everyone was settled, Mujika took off her hood along with Sonju,
"I'm Mujika and this is Sonju," She said, her hair was a lavender purple with the colours of her clothes complementing it, Light blue, blue with a purple bow and she had two horns sticking out of her head, she wore a kind smile on her face, her mask covering her eyes. On the other hand, Sonju had red hair, a full face mask with a horn on his forehead, He wore a brown cape-like thing with a hood and bandage's covering his arms, he had black pants with a rope as a belt, he had some sort of marking on his torso.
"We don't eat humans" Mujika explained
"So relax, we don't have any intentions of harming you or your friends," Mujika said she had another smile on her face
