The world went dark. The only sound was hissing of the Druun as they swept through the empty fields and buildings, searching for more souls to consume.

A deep silence followed. For the few people left alive to see it, the stillness was absolute. The world seemed to be empty of any flicker of light. Even the wind died. There was nothing but ash and dust as the building became an old ruin. All that remained was just the sound of silence, leaving the stone heroes alone.

Ko's POV

As we traveled far away from the kingdom, I turned back to see if Namaari and the others needed me. The clan crumbled up as smoke rose above the air. From the bridge, I can almost see debris fall into the dried up river. I was worried that they would turn to stone any moment now. We arrived safely at the top of the cliff and made sure the Druun weren't after us. Some of the people are exhausted from running away from the Druun. From the empty river, the Druun roam around, hissing and snarling, looking for more souls to consume. The people looked very worried about their friends from the kingdom, but I knew that Namaari and the others needed me.

"I got to go back for them," I said, before I started to go back. But the shouts of the people tried to warn me.

"No! It's too dangerous!"

"What if they're already gone?"

I stopped and turned my head to my frightened people. "I just don't want to lose my sister and my friends again," I softly said. I knew that my people are scared and they don't want to back down here since the Druun took over my homeland. All of their faces are in pure agony and fear because of those monsters out there. I just wished that Namaari and the others were alright.

Suddenly, a blast of blue caused us to fall. I looked up and saw that the light of the gem had been powered, radiating the sky like a wave. From the bottom, all of the Druun were destroyed one by one. For a moment, a deep silence followed. I looked and saw that the sky had turned completely dark already. Getting back up, the people wondered what was happening.

"What happened?" Liu asked, lifting her head.

I didn't hesitate. I looked back to where my kingdom lies in ruins. Maybe Namaari did it. Maybe she and the others got the Dragon Gem pieces back together. "Maybe they won," I said, softly before I looked over to the kingdom again. "I don't know if they did or not. Come on."

We began to walk back to the kingdom to see what had happened. I was hoping I would see my family again.

As we got here, it felt like there was no life. The sections of my home had collapsed completely, the cracks forming around the ground like broken webs. The statues of the Druun's victims were not moving. For a moment, it looks like the Druun have completely won the day. They multiply, wreak havoc...got what they wanted. Some of the debris was mushed up into ash and stone.

The surviving folks looked around for any life, maybe a few survivors who had hid, or some of them who had fled to a safe place. Liu was searching for her parents, getting really worried and scared. I feel so sorry for my friend, she's the only companion I have. Tuk Tuk nudged me if Raya was here. I didn't answer. I petted him gently. "I know. We'll find her."

I begin looking around for them. My sister has to be here. I looked inside the throne room and guessed had fought Namaari there. I headed back to the main entrance of Fang and saw Raya's sword on the broken concrete floor. It was pierced down completely like a sword in a rock. I picked it up carefully and placed it in my sheath.

Suddenly, I saw a bunch of people gathering from somewhere. I looked and I started to make way. From deep into a pit was the Dragon Gem. It had been put back together but there was no light. It wasn't blue anymore, more like a black and faded. As I looked again, I saw Namaari, and her friends as stoned statues. I gasped in horror.

"Namaari!" I screamed. I scrambled down and ran to my friends. I felt tears beginning to leak down as I looked at my older sister's frozen face. I begin to place my hands onto her cheeks. She wasn't moving. She was dead. Stone dead. "Namaari? Raya? Boun? Oh. No.. no please no," I cried, weeping.

That horrible sight made my heart break into pieces. The Druun had devoured my sister's soul and the others that saved us and got away from the Druun. Namaari broke her promise because she will be okay, but she didn't. The Druun had won. I dropped to her knees, very devastated, crying my heart out for my sister. She is gone. The Druun took everything away from me. The other people started to join me in a circle, whispering to see that they had lost everything and those who saved them.

"They...they saved us," an old man said in awe.

I remained silent as my crying ceased. A long time had passed for me, since those monsters turned everyone into stone, how they broke the world and how selfish we all are. Maybe we were punished because we were greedy. I felt like I was to blame for their deaths. I wish I could just change and tell Raya that it was her fault she never trusted anyone.

"Kora?" My attention turned to see Liu walking toward me. "What are we gonna do now? We don't know what we're gonna do."

"Everyone seemed to be gone," a Fang citizen said.

"If only we could leave this place and forget what has happened," said another.

My head slowly begins to lift up. I thought about Sisu, the dragon Namaari saw. Even though she said trust is the way to get out of this. The answer had been there all along. Why had it taken so long to see it? "Maybe there is."

Summoning my courage, I begin to climb onto a rock to get everyone's attention.

"Listen everyone," I told everyone. "I know this looks bad but get this. With the Druun gone, we can trust all the clans that Sisu wanted. Without the guards, we had no defense. I may not remember Sisu right now. But I promise we can protect Kumandra. It's for my mom and Namaari. Even the others."

Everyone whispered to one another. "Are you sure?"

"Yes," I said. I took a deep breath before I continued. "As the only princess of the Fang Clan, I will lead you all out of Kumandra. Who's with me?"

Everyone thought for a moment. If they leave Kumandra then they will be safe. Everyone agreed, nodding their heads. "Kumandra's too dangerous to live here. We had to leave," I explained.

"Where will we go?" A Fang person asked.

"Up north. We will be safe."

Everyone nodded and agreed. They think that moving north away from the Druun was a good idea.

"Everyone, get everything packed up," I ordered. "This journey is going to be a big walk."

Everyone nodded their heads and agreed. Through the broken kingdom, everyone bid farewell to their dead loved ones and packed up their long journey. I picked up the Dragon Gem and placed it in my bag. I bid farewell to my loving stoned sister and began to climb onto Tuk Tuk.

"Ko, come on!" I heard Liu's voice from a distance. She was urging me to come. We all begin to leave across the empty riverbed as I look back to the fallen kingdom. I hope that the other clans will survive.
