Ko's POV
As the morning came, I lifted up my head and made sure that Namaari had already got the gem piece to Raya. The Heart warrior had all four pieces from the different clans and is now heading here. I got up to get dressed in my usual clothing. My clothes have a dress with a skirt and my hair is tied into a long ponytail after brushing with my hairbrush. After I got dressed, I went up to my drawer and pulled out my telescope. I begin to poke outside the window and look though. In the distance, I could see Namaari giving Raya the gem pieces.
Third POV
Namaari was waiting for her, and holding a cloth wrapped bundle in her hands. She was unsure if she could trust Raya after what she did by stealing all the shards from each clan. Then, Raya emerges out of the woods, alone.
"I see you got my gift," Raya began, referring to the pendant.
"I never thought I'd see this again," said Namaari, looking at the pendant before she looked up at Raya.
"Well, uh... I tried to take good care of it. You're not the only dragon nerd here."
That made Namaari laugh before she looked at the cloth in her hands. She thought that if she could trust her, maybe she could. Immediately, Raya could see the gleam of the blue shard. Without taking her eyes from Raya, Namaari unfolded the cloth and placed the gem piece on a rock between them and backed away. At that moment, Sisu emerged from the woods, her eyes on Namaari. Namaari gasped and quickly bowed to her, then stood, looking a little shy. Sisu and Raya stared at the small gem. They have finally done it.
"The final piece."
"Time to bring everyone back," Raya said and smiled.
She started to open her satchel, where the rest of the gem shards sat, but she stopped when she heard a threatening sound. She looked up and her heart seemed to snap. Namaari had pulled out a crossbow from her satchel, her finger on the trigger. She thought that this was a trick, as if she doesn't trust anyone, including that Heart clan warrior. "Sisu and the gem pieces are coming with me."
"Sisu!" Boun yelled. Tong had emerged from the forest and so did Boun, Noi and the rest of the animals who followed right behind him. They know that their two friends are in danger and Namaari is gonna steal the shards again.
The Fang princess took notice and began to point her crossbow at them. "Stay back!" Namaari warned.
Tong bared his teeth in anger. "It was foolish to trust someone from Fang!"
"Don't come any closer!"
"Namaari, it doesn't have to be like this," Raya pleaded.
Tears glisten in Namaari's eyes but she didn't lower her weapon. "I don't have any other choice."
In defense, Raya was about to grab her sword to attack until Sisu stopped her. "Hey. I got this," she told her. The human paused, then slowly took her hand off her sword. And if it goes well, then it might be the right time to trust her. Sisu began to take a few steps toward Namaari, her body starting to glow. Namaari now pointed her crossbow at Sisu.
"What are you doing?" she asked, trembling.
"I know you don't wanna hurt anybody," Sisu told her sincerely. "You just want a better world. Like we all do."
Namaari hesitated, lowering her crossbow an inch. "Sisu..."
"I trust you, Namaari."
But Raya still wasn't sure about this. She kept a close eye on Namaari's trigger. Suddenly, it seemed to move. Raya didn't waste a moment. She pulls out her sword and throws it at Namaari, disarming her. But as she struck the crossbow, the trigger released. With a sound as quiet as the breeze, the arrow flew through the air and sank into Sisu's heart.
