Roots of the Heart

Shira and Manako sprinted through the street with their disguise on. Panting for breath, they looked over and saw the giant branch monster terrorizing the city. The creature was shaped like a dragon with skeleton-like wings on the back. It doesn't have any eyes except for a gaping mouth and horns on the head. It has mantis shaped claws and it doesn't have any legs. The mighty beast opened its mouth as a purple laser shot out and destroyed a few buildings. Shira still has her water powers so she can fly to the top. Manako started to follow her by climbing onto the ladder as they got to the top of the rooftop. Shira looked up to get a closer look at the beast.

"How are we gonna stop that thing?" Manako asked.

"I don't know!" Shira cried, nervously. "It's too big to climb up there and get inside."

She's right. The monster is extremely dangerous. The branch monster is twice the size of a building and there is no way they can climb on top and see what is inside.

"I could help," Rudolf's voice echoed. He had arrived at the rooftops with Twilight. When he heard that the girls were gonna stop that branch monster, he rushed in to help. Twilight was on his shoulder as soon as Meloetta floated by.

"Uta," Manako squeaked. "It's too dangerous to go out there by yourself."

Meloetta shook her head and moaned. Rudolf petted her gently as Twilight hopped onto his arms. "It's okay. She asked me to go with her as long as she doesn't get hurt." He turned to Shira with a hopeful look. "I've come here to help."

"How can you do it?"

"You see, Twilight is a Shaymin and she can change into something into this."

"Like what?" Manako asked cheerfully. "Is it like evolving?"

"Close." He began to release something from his pocket. A pink flower that fits in his hand. "This flower can turn Twilight into something that can defeat this monster. Why is it special you ask?"

Twilight began to sniff the flower, and then she started to glow into a golden light. Manako and Shira cover their eyes as soon as the Shaymin's form begins to change. Antlers began to appear from her head as her legs grew long. A flower bloomed from the neck as her little legs started to stretch long. Most of her green hair began to disappear, leaving only the top of her head as both flowers sink into the body. After its transformation was complete, the light had died down. In her place was a reindeer Yokai with white antlers, green paws, and a red flower on the neck.

"What happened?" Manako asked. "Is that Yokai really Twilight?"

"Of course," Rudolf said. "This is her Sky Form. She changed into this when she made contact with the Gracidea flower."

"Min!" Twilight chirped. She suddenly started to bound into the air and started flying.

"I totally like it!" Shira said. "She's even cooler than ever."

"And are you certain that this will distract this monster long enough?" Manako asked.

"Of course," Rudolf nodded. "If Twilight could battle it long enough."

Soon, the branch monster had spotted them. It began to use its hyper beam and the sea turtles and Nightmaren dodged it. The bright shot of light almost took down half of the city. Floating down from the monster's shoulder was Pioeian. The robot nightmare twirled to greet them.

"Hello! Long time no seabreeze!"

"Pioeian?" Shira said. "What is that thing?"

"This?" Pioeian asked. "It is my branch monster, Druunbi. It is very strong and powerful and it can destroy you and your gem."
