The boy kicked and screamed on the way to the doctor's office.
"I don't want to get a shot!" he shouted over and over again.
No matter how hard his father pleaded, no matter what he bargained and offered, the boy's resistance just grew stronger. The determined doctor ordered the boy's dad to restrain him. To hold his arms and legs. To pin his head back like they were about to torture the poor child.
The short needle went in. The quick shot was administered. Then the boy got his lollipop, and it was like the entire trauma never happened.
