The hospital's waiting room takes great pride in its job. It might not seem as important as the operating room, delivery room, or even the cafeteria. But the waiting room knows otherwise. It houses worried friends and family, comforting them until news of the patient arrives. The room allows these weary waiters to cry, to vent, to pace endlessly back and forth, letting their anxiety seep into its walls. The waiting room absorbs it all. The heartache and anguish. The joy and relief. It's seen every tear and continues to do what may be the most important job of all.
